Prayer request from a fellow FReeper

Dear Trussell, I am on your ping list and have been privileged to pray for many individuals because of your efforts. My family is in need of prayers, and I would like to ask for them anonymously without posting myself. I am hoping you can slip this in somewhere for me. :)

My husband, who can be a dear, dear man who loves me, is also ill with bipolar disorder. He takes medications, but I have been unable to convince him he needs to maintain an ongoing relationship with a psychiatrist/counselor. (This is complicated by the fact that we are self-employed and currently have no health insurance.)

Recently, he has seemed off to me and has been drinking, something he doesn't usually do unless he is not feeling right. He slipped past me tonight and went for a drive and I just learned he was arrested for a DUI and that the officer is sending him for a MHMR evaluation, also.

As for me, I have reached the end of my reserves to deal with this situation. I honestly don't know how to go on either with or without my husband. It is not that I am a weak person or unable to take care of myself, but I am so stressed out and so worn down from dealing with my husband's problems that I just have very little fight left in me.

We have a 12-year-old son who needs his dad but also doesn't need any more of the craziness. I give him everything I can, but sometimes I don't know if it is enough or what would be best.

I don't even know what to ask people to pray for at this point, but I know God knows what we need and that people will be led to pray in the right direction.

Heavenly Father,

We come to You on behalf of our friend who feels enveloped in despair and darkness. We ask that You would draw her and her family close to You and provide the hope that they need. We pray that You would not only hear our prayers, but also that You would give ear to her cries for help. Only You can lead her to the answers she needs for her family, Lord. Destroy the devil's work in her husband and help her to rise up with courage to trust in Your leading. Help her each morning to see a vision of You standing with her, ready to help her face each day. Father, we don't ask that all her problems be miraculously removed, but that she and her family will be victorious as they work through these difficulties, seeking Your answers in everything they need. Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Dear Freeper. Yes, you and your family are in my prayers. You are right in that Our Heavenly Father knows what is best for us and I will pray that His will be done.
However your son needs you now and you must be strong for him. Our Lord will help you to do that. Just call on Him whenever you are feeling weak and just trust Him and He will be there. And I will be here praying for you. I do care.
Also we have so many freepers who care also.

Dear Anonymous Freeper

On the practical side, be sure to check with the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill in your area. NAMI has many resources all over the U.S. They have classes for dealing with/assisting those who are bi-polar, etc.

On the spiritual side, prayers are being offered for peace and direction. Know, always, that God loves and cherishes you, your son and your husband.
