I wonder if she had to "take a hammer to him" before he would commit.

"She has a model husband."

A real pillar of the community.

A lot of American women end up thinking they did this.

How many of them were married to STATUES of Jesus? Big difference, Jesus is the living God. A statue is just a statue.

It's all a matter of perspective. In the posted story the girl was "married" to the statue. Well, isn't it more likely that in her own mind she is marrying the 'living' god represented in the statue? I think YES, notwithstanding that many here are having fun with the story as written.

So then the only difference between the nuns in my post and the girl in the story is the validity of the underlying religious belief. And I think that they are equivalently valid.

It took a five-hour ceremony to "light a fire" under him.

So to speak.

Never happen.

She worships the guy.

You know how they say married couples, after a while, start to look like each other?

"And I think that they are equivalently valid."

I think that statement clarifies your failure to understand. Besides, these threads aren't meant for serious discussion, or if they are, they fail miserably. They are pure hilarity.

Who gets the kids if they divorce?

The judge would have to choose b/w a blockhead and a idolterer.

Hmm...well I've always read in the Bible that the Church is the bride of Christ, and that's just a metaphor anyway.
