Anyone else like the movie "In America"?

My husband & I saw "in America" a few days ago. We both loved it especially the natural acting ability of the two little sisters who play the daughters in the film.
As the Irish immigrant mother, Samantha Morton deserves an Oscar for Best Actress. I wish they could also give the sisters, Sarah & Emma Bolger Oscars for their outstanding performances.
Director Jim Sheridan's own experiences in 1980s NYC apparently inspired many scenes in the film.
When the film ended we walked out feeling so refreshed & uplifted by the life-affirming message of this film. Anyone else see it?

We pick & choose our movies very carefully......we really enjoyed "In America" and think you would also.
BTW this is my first 'movie thread'....usually do not do this but I think this is a movie that should be seen!

.45MAN and I have not been to a movie in over three years. We don't rent them, nor do we subscribe to any movie channels.
Alec Baldwin, *Bahbah* Streisand, Martin Sheen, et al clinched it for us during the elections (and after). We cannot support anything Hollyweird thanks to their hateful vitriol.
*But* - when Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" comes out, we *will* attend and support that one.
:-)

I hear you...dansy....we also basically 'boycott' the Hollywood movies.
But I had read a review of "In America" and based on that felt it was worth seeing.
"In America" sends a subtle 'pro-life' message and really celebrates the joys of family life. Sheridan also directed 'My Left Foot' the movie about the severely handicapped man who became a writer through the patience & support of his loving parents.

Those are messages that I would break my ban to see.
Bookmarking the review to read later. Thank you for the info!

I thought the two little girls totally carried the movie. The rest of the acting wasn't that good. Definitely worth seeing anyway.
