Hmmmm I was getting my stats from the same site. Perhaps I misread them. But every year the rate of increase is greater. And, I wonder, how many Central American and South American Roman's are still counted by the church though they have left the Roman church and become Pentecostal?

I agree with that.

Greer's site offers some impressive DVD OR CD COLLECTIONS OF BRIEFING DOCS used with Congress. Also, some of the 400 witnesses of significant rank and quality give testimony in color video thereon.

And there are a couple of hefty books available, too. I think they are all worthwhile.

That would require a huge demographic shift- Pentecostals would need to be converting not only tens of millions of non-Christian but also tens of millions of Christians every year to even have a chance at becoming the majority denomination of Christianity. The Catholic Church has done a good job in recent years when it comes to expanding in places like China and Africa. I just don't see how Pentecostals could realistically expect to ever catch up in the foreseeable future.

My understanding is that solid research had indicated they already had.

Check out Barna.

And the rate of increase in Pentecostals IS pretty phenomenal.

That's an interesting site, but not convincing. Of course there are unidentified flying objects. There are things you see in the sky that you can't name or explain. I've seen some pretty strange things near air bases and gunnery ranges. But not everything people see in the air can be an alien spaceship.

I'll keep an open mind about UFOs, but the rest of the mythology -- abductions, probings, experimentations, implants, and a massive government conspiracy to cover them up -- is much harder to believe.

I can only speak for myself and others may disagree, but it does seem to me like people were more willing to believe in UFO or assassination conspiracies five or ten years ago than today.

The miniseries Taken is kind of interesting, though. It's a trashy melodrama and more a chick flick or soap opera than your dad's hard SF, but the mystery does kind of grow on me.

Have you looked on nuforc.org? Look at the thousands of sighting reports, in the words of the sighters, many of whom are pilots and military personnel, professors, police, etc.

A very understandable perspective.

Some of us no longer have the luxury of not believing.

I never saw a clock in the dream state before. I do remember that when the beings came into the room, it was evening. Then when I woke up, it was morning or later in the morning and remember noticing I was wearing the same as in the dream state.

I remember watching something on the History Channel about a year ago where experiments were being done on people as far back as the late 50's in controlled areas. In this program, subjects were tested mentally for psychic abilities and telekinetic ability by games and experimentation. Upon this, many of the subjects were psychic abilities were used to mind read foreign intelligence.

Some of the subjects were volunteers. Unsure about others.

Thanks for your input. I do read the Scripture (KJV) on a daily basis.

From your conventional wisdom I can see your point based on a scientific pov. However, (and no insult here) I don't mix science with God.

Who knows?

Actually, there is a FREEPER with a job who would likely know but he dare not discuss anything close to his job.

It's pretty reasonable for us to have our suspicions, though!

Some people have ended up with their clothes on backwards and upside down head to feet in their beds.

Have been pretty skeptical of a lot of that. Though I don't doubt that demonic forces could produce such results through people.

We shall see.

Super Chinese Christian Watchman Nee felt that prefall Adam had many abilities that have been lost to us. He may have been right.

You are welcome.

I was reared on the KJV. And my memory work was done in it. But it is so archaic, the younger generations have little appreciation for it. And, a lot of nuance is lost to us because it is not our mother tongue.

I really appreciate THE MESSAGE version. Peterson did a great job of matching the current English vernacular with the tone, nuances and vernacular of the original Hebrew and Greek. It makes many Scriptures come alive all the more to me. Certainly the NIV is a quality scholarly version. But it's much more stiff and formal than the original languages, evidently.

I don't have much use for the idea that God spoke KJV English and that all other versions are somehow more corrupted than the KJV.

Certainly daily feeding on THE WORD is vitally important.

And, were I in an abduction context wherein my praying in tongues was somehow not so effective, I'd certainly be quoting Scripture to them at every fitting moment.
