The Guild 3-3-2004 Political Ghost Story

Edited on 04/13/2004 2:35:34 AM PDT by Jim Robinson. [history]

It happened at the annual Lincoln Day Dinner of the Allegheny County Republican Party, March 20, 1991, at the William Penn Hotel.

At the time the first George Bush was still flush with victory in the Persian Gulf, and dinnergoers chortled over a videotaped presentation of assorted senate Democrats backpedaling in the wake of a war they'd opposed. Ted Kennedy was shown. News clips were shown. But for Kerry, the speaker simply read the two letters, to everyone's amazement.

We had those critters when we moved in. Fortunately, they also had confined themselves to one little corner. The treatments are so darned expensive!

The treatments were so darned expensive!

My bond with Termite is only $128 a year. If you don't have one, the initial expense can be high, but the annual is usually reasonable.

The bond covers annual inspections and treatments. I mistakenly believed that meant I wouldn't get termites. Now I understand that it is simply insurance for treating an infestation and repairing any damage. (He told me there's no way to avoid an infestation, it's just a matter of luck.)

Here's a great shot I found on gwb.com.

Just one of the many reasons I appreciate our president, his subtle, wry humor. It comes in so many ways, like this picture. :-)

Ugh. That's my regular senator. Gag, spit.

Both of my sentors will make a person gag and spit. At least yours is easy on the eyes, as long as he keeps his mouth shut.

What is Kennedy and that other guy doing behind Bush? Did Gepetto cut their puppet strings?

#8 is pretty sad.

Isn't it though...here this 65 year old lady is falling down and nobody is doing anything, save for the one daughter who looks upset but is doing nothing. Meanwhile, the hubby, is totally oblivious...

And it's not even her daughter! That reminds me - I thought we read that Teresa's sons were helping out their stepfather's campaign, but have we seen them anywhere?

THIS is a great column:
Let's just be blunt: The North Koreans would love to see John Kerry win the election. The mullahs of Iran would love it. The Syrian Ba'athists would sigh with relief. Every enemy of America would take great satisfaction if the electorate rejects the Bush doctrine and scuttles back to hide under the U.N. Security Council's table. It's a hard question, but the right one: Which candidate does our enemy want to lose? George W. Bush.

And some conservatives will be happy to help, it seems.
