POSTED: 11:33 am EDT April 20, 2004
WAKE FOREST, N.C. -- A golfer was bitten by a pit bull on a Wake County golf course Tuesday afternoon.
Police and the Wake Forest Fire Department received a call from someone at the Wake Forest Golf Club off of Highway 98 reporting that two pit bulls were roaming the course attacking golfers.
One of the dogs bit a golfer on the right hand. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.
The pit bulls were caught and restrained. Authorities said they do not know where the dogs came from or who owns them.

I am a dog lover. Are Pitt Bulls really dangerous? Some say that they need to be eliminated from the earth. Can they really be good pets? Doesn't love conquer all?

I owned a female pit bull some 15-20 years ago. AKC purple ribbon pedigree. She was a sweetheart. The biggest threat she posed to anyone was that they might get licked to death. (However, she was a great watchdog. Someone breaking in at night would've been very, very sorry.)
I wouldn't get one now though; too much inbreeding. It makes them unpredictable and dangerous.
