Help me get this straight

In Iraq, notorious henchmen to one of the most murderous dictators in modern history are captured and subjected to common fraternity hazing stunts, such as being stripped, blindfolded and forced to wear women's underwear on their head. There is universal and sustained condemnation and outrage.
Meanwhile, during the same general time period as the foregoing "abuse," Islamic fundamentalists from Iraq to Israel to Sudan do the following: (1) decapitate an innocent American citizen and film it on videotape; (2) joyfully mutilate the bodies of four American contractors in Fallujah; (3) send bands of government-backed marauders on horseback to indictriminately kill entire villages of non-Muslim Africans; (4) occupy mosques and schools as fortresses and use women and children as shields; and (5) kill innocent Israeli civilians and refuse to turn the deceaseds' bones over to the victims' families. In response, the world shrugs, condemns Israel for failing to follow the "Roadmap to Peace," urges America to leave Iraq and votes Sudan onto the U.N. Human Rights Commission.
Someone, please, help explain this to me.

Actually I think you understand the "sic" society in which we live very well. It is disgusting to know we live in this world of morons, those who support being in the UN...as they want to control the world's water, resources and decide who gets what. They are as evil as the terrorists, but in a more subtle way.
Yes, those stunts are the same ones used in "hazing", and also in "Chief Initiations" of the USN, or were many yrs ago, now they call it abuse (except for nude piles...that is pretty bad), however NONE of it compares to the beheading of an innocent civilian and the other list you noted...WE SHOULD BE AS ANGRY AS WE WERE ON 9/11!!!

I believe that "the hotter the war, the quicker the peace", but the Dems/liberal media and others have gotten our President "sidetracked", thinking this administration can reason with them. NO WAY, imho, we must and should strike hot, fast and furious, WITH ZEAL or we will not be able to work to rebuild Iraq with any hope of stopping the "retribution"; the "prison abuse" scandal was all they needed (any excuse) to kill americans. WE must move the administration to action, because inaction is hurting us.
The best defense is "a great offense"!!

It seems then, the only people in the world who are worthy of having their plight brought to the attention of world opinion are those whose remedy will help elect or take down a politician or government.

It is your second paragraph that will happen here on our own soil, and worse - unless we win this WOT. There is no option but to prevail.
