My 15.5 year old daughter just received notice that she has been selected to attend the Republican National Convention as part of the Junior Statesmen Program through Northwestern University. She's going to have private meetings with key Senators, Cabinet members, Congressmen and staffers. Maybe even a photo op with Condi, Laura or Jenna. What a blast for a great kid.
She just completed an intensive program in American Government at Northwestern, where they take 100 high school kids and have them spend 6 weeks in the dorms at Northwestern attending classes 5 days a week and meeting with Congressional staffers and actual congresscritters on Saturdays. She received notice today.
At the Program at Northwestern, the mix was about 65% Libs, 35% Conservatives and she slammed every debate she had to participate in. She wore her "Fox and Friends" T-shirt to class and got the nickname of "Foxy."

About 20 years ago I dated a phenomenal woman whose first name was Barbara. She went by her middle name of Lynn but I called her Babs. She told me, "Only you and my Dad call me 'Babs'" I replied, "Who's your daddy, Babs?"
She later dumped me for a woman. Go figure.
