Bush Guard Documents Given to CBS By Kerry or DNC?
American Spectator ^ | 9/10/2004 | The Prowler

Posted on 09/11/2004 10:38:46 PM PDT by notkerry

More than six weeks ago, an opposition research staffer for the Democratic National Committee received documents purportedly written by President George W. Bush's Texas Air National Guard squadron commander, the late Col. Jerry Killian.

The oppo researcher claimed the source was "a retired military officer." According to a DNC staffer, the documents were seen by both senior staff members at the DNC, as well as the Kerry campaign.

"More than a couple people heard about the papers," says the DNC staffer. "I've heard that they ended up with the Kerry campaign, for them to decide to how to proceed, and presumably they were handed over to 60 Minutes, which used them the other night. But I know this much. When there was discussion here, there were doubts raised about their authenticity."

Hummmmmmm..........

This would certainly explain Rather's reluctance to reveal his sources, wouldn't it?

Last paragraph:
"According to one ABC News employee, some reporters believe that the Kerry campaign as well as the DNC were parties in duping CBS, but a smaller segment believe that both the DNC and the Kerry campaign were duped by Karl Rove, who would have engineered the flap to embarrass the opposition."
It's all Bush's fault.

Somebody needs to call the Prowler and see it can idicate the DNC Staffer.

This has been out there for a couple of days.
IT's HUGH!

I think the DNC got it first...and passed it to Kerry as the "staffer" heard.

Either that ...or Terry Mac passed it directly to his love buddy Danny boy....knowing they were fakes....and knowing that if it blows up....it hurts Kerry.

And then his wrestling buddy...Hillary...has her shot clean for 2008.

The libs are tying themselves in knots trying to decide if they should back Rather and claim the documents are genuine or to blame Rove for dirty tricks. It is the most fun I have ever had in a political campaign.

As soon as I heard that Carville and Begala were joining the Kerry campaign, I knew we could count the minutes until this sort of trumped-up slime started spewing all over the airwaves.

This sort of phony slime machine mudslinging is ALL Carville knows how to do...

And when this non-story dies down (is killed), there will be another more vile smear waiting to splatter with the all-too-willing aid of the Demopuke MainStreamMedia.

And we'll be right here to kill it... again.

I heard either Hannity or Rush say their sources said this came from the Kerry campaign. On the one hand, this could be a sabotage against JF'nK, but I tend to think President Bush is the intended target. The Carville creep loves to sling mud. He cares not if it is true.

Jim, I don't want to over simplify this but: Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. All the DNC's mules and all the DNC's men, couldn't put Humpty back together again.

We've seen the passing of the campaign finance law; we now have unrestricted 527's; we now have MSM (having been challenged by the 527s) erupting in blatant partisanship. Our forefathers sought to protect freedom of speech and we have mostly benefited from their wisdom and efforts. But it's had its ups and downs. Over the past 30 years, the broadcast media and in recent times, their cable offspring, have trended so far from anything resembling an accurate representation of events that threatens the proposition of a free press.

I thank you for opening this free speech forum. And by the way, It's all the DNC's fault.

Best regards, Jack

Jim,

Take a look at this site. I was trying to find
the provenance of AFM 35-13 using google, and found the
sites below.

They are lefty sites, which refer to the documents
MONTHS ago.

August 2004:
http://www.talkaboutinvestments.com/group/misc.invest.stocks/messages/880901.html

April 2004:
http://www.reachm.com/amstreet/archives/2004/04/21/who-da-man/

Feb. 2004:
http://billhobbs.com/hobbsonline/003279.html
http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/mt/mt-comments.cgi?entry_id=3261

Which has this text:
Chris,

Yeah, this aspect of the story may die. But the media has a sense right now that there's stuff in the records that Bush doesn't want people to see, and they'll continue to follow that thread.

This document got posted over at Atrios's site, and it has a couple of interesting things. First of all, there was another guy (James Bath) who got suspended the month after Bush for refusing to take his physical. He's been linked to Bush before, but what interested me was this bit:

"Off[icer] will comply with para 2-1, AFM 35-13. Authority: Para 2-29m, AFM 35-13."

Anyone know what this means? I assume it has something to do with the regulations they violated, but googling on the reference (and I also tried assuming that it means Air Force Manual) turned up nothing.

The words This Document are hypertext.
The words linked to Bush are hypertext, and lead to
this site:

http://www.onlinejournal.com/Special_Reports/Hatfield-R-091901/hatfield-r-091901.html

which contains the text:

Like his father before him, Dubya founded his oil business with the financial backing of investors, including James R. Bath, a Houston businessman whom Dubya apparently first met when they were in the same Texas Air National Guard unit. (Interestingly, both Dubya and Bath were both suspended from flying in August and September 1972, respectively, for "failure to accomplish annual medical examination.")

This is PRE Kerry, PRE election, even PRE 9-11-2001
smearing of Bush...
Could this be why Rather is saying the facts are genuine?
(Can't vouch for the authenticity of the allegations
about Bath. But they sure would make tempting material
for Rather to chance typing up a 'contemporary copy'.

Any thoughts?

Also, any way to save these sites so they don't disappear
down the memory hole?

I relish the thought that the rat media was set up by the Bush team.

Even if documents are not forgeries, Bush had approval to be in a non-flight unit from 5/26/72 until 7/21/72. As such, no flight physical was required and not required until July 1972 when transfer was over rulled. Was screwed by higher ups in Denver and had to report to a flight ready unit. As such, he was suspended on 8/1/72. By 8/5/72, Bush had approval to go to Alambama 187th and began showing up in October. Bush completed all required service credits within 6 years and was honarably dischage with the approval of the commander they know claim suspended him?

I looked at your site with reference to April 2004: People should check this out: This cite refrences a verbal order dated Septemebr 1, 1972 not the alleged forgery date of August 1, 1972 . Go see Bush's known valid records, he applied for transfer to flight unit on 9/5/72. He actually had approval to be at non-flight unit from 5/26/72 until 7/21/72 and apparenetly was not informed until 9/1/72 it had been over ruled in Denver. See link in above post.

Here is what was writtnen on the link you supplied:

Verbal orders of the Comdr on 1 Sep 72 suspending ist Lt george W. Bush ANGUS (Not on EAD) TX ANG, Hq 147 Flt GTp, Ellington AFB, Houston TX, from flying status are confirmed, exigencies of the service having been such as to preclude the publication of competent written orders in advance. Reason for suspension: Failure to accomplish annual medical examination. Off will comply with para 2-10, AFM 35-13 Authority: Para 2-29m, AFM 35-13"
