Does anyone have any detailed information on the Chinese C-803 anti-ship cruise missile? I need it for a class project and it has been difficult to find good information on this weapon system. Thanks!

Have these made it to the Dollar Store yet? I think they'd be way cool strapped to the side of my Bertram...

For one, you can research the fact that the KLINTON administration released the 5-axis milling machine to the Chinese, eventhough it was on DOD's AND the State Dept's DO NOT EXPORT list. The Chinese said that they would use it ONLY for commerical aircraft fuselages. I guess Bubba had to fess up for all of the millions that the PLA sent his way.

Try: www.dss.mil they have good archives.

What ever happened to auto shop, or small engines?

What do you guys need to make a cruise missile for, anyways?

http://www.sinodefence.com/navy/weapon/c802.asp

There is a small part in this page about the C-803 which says it's a derivative of the C-802 etc-Sinodefence is a pretty decent site, though i'd advice any visitors to carry 2 buckets of salt with them while visiting!!!

PS-the missile system that really interests me is the Russian 'Klub' anti-ship/land attack cruise missile which comes in 3-4 different variants with ranges from 40kms to 300kms & pretty big warhead. It has a subsonic flightprofile like the Tomahawk or Harpoon till around 20kms from the target,at which it switches to a supersonic boost mode, making it supposedly "impossible to shoot down".It was first sold to India in 2000 & is deployed on Indian Kilo class subs & 3 frigates & according to some sources, a few are tipped with nukes.China is buying it to equip 6 new Kilo class subs which it will recieve from Russia from 2006-it could concievably launch land attacks on Taiwan or even Japan(in the event of US/Japanese involvement).
