Have always gotten the professional versions.

It's still a bunch of klutzy, flawed, almost disasterous code as far as my experience goes.

I haven't gotten the blue screen of death as much since SR2. But I have still gotten it.

And both IE6.X and FoxFire crash with very annoying regularity.

That's with 1.x gigabytes of RAM; tons of gigabytes HD's; 2 CPU AMD ASUS 1.x GIGHZ motherboard and a high speed net connection etc.

I always get the updates etc.

I think Microsoft's leaders should be imprisoned for inhuman cruelty to millions of people.

They have MORE THAN SUFFICIENT BRAIN POWER AND MORE THAN SUFFICIENT MONEY

to put out decent code and self correcting software. Their greed is clearly ahead of their service to their customers--which will eventually impact their greed. Evidently they don't even care about that.

There's some kind of weird problem there then. I run 2 boxes, one with pro and one with home, and I've had exactly one BSOD in several years of (almost continuous) uptime.

As far as MS operating systems go, I am actually fairly happy with XP.

If you really want the best hardware, you need a dual Power PC Mac with the leading next generation OS: OS X. Relevant comments from this thread about M$ operating systems apply. If you think XP is "pretty good," you will love OS X. Best regards.
