Hehe. Now if they could just cut the Globe, so it fits neatly into the bottom of a birdcage, your happiness would be complete.

If it's not too inconvenient, you may want to stop by their office and return it -- "Sorry, not interested!"

Maybe every leftists should buy 5 or 10 copies of three or four of these papers... every day. Then their circulation numbers could go back up.

Damn bloggers.

The SF Chron was doing the same thing in my neighborhood last year. The whole block got a "free" paper thrown on their driveway. I called 'em up at told 'em that if they didn't stop, I'd call the cops about their littering!

LOL!
The Houston Comical has just revamped it's look, and littered my lawn with a copy. Same bilge inside, all new appearance.
To: pabianice
Actually, every hometown paper I've ever been around has dropped off free copies for non-subscribers occasionally as a means of getting people hooked. Boston glob did this several times when I lived in that area over a decade ago.
Now the real question is whether they're going to count you as a subscriber...

Ah, I haven't gone out to the end of my driveway yet to pick up my Globe, so I anticipate my garbage bag present. In my house, the Globe has one function, as a wee wee pad for my mini doxies. Works just fine.

I cancelled back when they had those phony rape pictures. I found an unsolicted copy on my lawn last Sunday. Justed checked, the lawn is Globe-free. You may have a substitute, or they may be sprinkling copies on the lawns of folks who recently cancelled.
I did get one postcard from them "enticing" me back - NOT!. I don't answer unsolicted phone calls, so don't know if they've tried to call.

The Globe has gone over the cliff on news and editorials but the Sunday sports section is one of the best in the country.

ROTF!!! Pre-garbage. Love it.
Whenever we're in MA, we always get the Herald. And usually we find there are fewer of those left than the Globe.

"arrived in its own trash bag, sort of "pre-garbage.""
Mpls Star-Tribune does the same. They've even taken to positioning people in grocery stores trying to give away Sunday editions.
To: pabianice
Every once in awhile I get the St. Pete Times (we only read the Tampa Tribune), sent to my home and usually continues for seven straight days. It never even makes it into the house as I stop at the garbage can on the way in and dump it. Prepackaged garbage is a good thing.

Newspapers are flown over to the Island early each morning. I have to scramble to get a copy of the Boston Herald, as they sell out fast. The Globe, on the other hand, is piled high and deep...
The only thing wrong with the Herald is that they hired that lying, plagiarizing loser, Mike Barnicle.

Uses for free issues of The Globe:
- Line the bottom of a bird cage
- Cleaning windows
- Starting barbeque's
- Paper mache busts of Kerry for the rifle range
- Draining fried foods
- Mopping up grease
- Paper sailor hats for children's parties

Newspapers boost their circulation numbers by giving away thousands of issues.
The local paper here gives away two dozen newspapers to each and every school in this area, including elementary, middle, high school and private, in their effort not only to brainwash the kids, but to boost their circulation numbers.
Then they can claim to advertisers they have XX number of copies "sold" every day.
IN addition, newspapers at any one point in time give free papers to about 10 percent of their customers by "Free 9-week programs" and other ruse plans.
