I'm sure there are plenty of kids with similar stories in your area. It is very sad the effects of immoral living, interchangeable partners and self-serving adults on the children that are produced by such relationships.
I know this is my fantasy-world, but wouldn't it be good if birth parents, prior to being able to have children, had to answer as many questionnaires, background checks, interviews, etc. as adoptive parents must? I get so sick and sad when I am at a store and see how some parents treat their children. I could not do your job.
