My neighbor's dog brought home a human skull, what
Posted on 09/27/2004 12:19:18 PM PDT by jilley
should I do? We live out in the country and the dog brought it home a few weeks ago. She says she wants to keep it for decoration and it is now stuck on her fence post. When I take her the paper every day, it creeps me out. Her dog is always leaving deer horns in my yard also, so it must be out there killing deer and breaking their horns off.

Call the police and let them know.
If the dog may have come across a shallow grave, and your neighbor is a moron for not figuring this out.

Call the police dept if you're sure it's human. Sounds like foul play somewhere.

Well, I would just place a call to the local authorities, tell them what has happened. This could be a missing person, a murder victim, or just an old grave he dug up, but the authorities should check it out. I would think that would be a reasonable thing to do...

You should most definitely call the police about the human skull.
As to the deer antlers, deer shed their antlers every year. It's very common to find antlers in a forest. I wouldn't worry about that. The dog is probably finding old antlers.

What state are in? There are a lot of possibilities, from a washed out old grave, a recent burial, a dumped body, a dead homeless person. You need to call the police and report it. It's really a sick thing to display the skull. It sounds terribly heathen and barbaric.

Oh, yeah, call the police (or sheriff). Anonymously if you don't want your neighbor to find out who called. This needs to be investigated. I can't imagine having my dog bringing me a human skull and just parking it on a fence post. Good grief!

Well I'd definitely get the authorities to look into the skull.
On the subject of antlers (deer horns), deer shed their horns every year so I wouldn't worry about that. In fact you could make a little money if you're smart. If you've got enough of them you might be able to sell them in pairs to local hunters to use to "rattle in" deer during hunting season.

To: jilley
This needs to be reported to authorities immediately. There may be a crime scene involved, a missing person, or it could of course be very old,but in any case the authorities need to know about it.
There could be a family somewhere who has no idea as to the fate of their loved one, or perhaps it's from an old gravesite that's been disturbed. If she won't call, please do it yourself.
