Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner there may wait...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Welcome back and welcome! New threads sometimes bring the shy folk and lurkers and new folk out of the woodwork. Stay as long as you like, as long as you don't break the plates!

Wish I could see the picture...I'll load it to snapfish for ya ;~D
We don't have an idea about solutions... We haven't had anyone else report a problem, so we don't think it's the site. Not that that helps you feel any better. I don't understand the magic of how it all works, myself. maybe one of the other gurus does.

It's interesting how much the whole dynamic of a group is changed by one new member. None of the routines that have gone smoothly for three years now work, and we have to come up with new routines for everything!

What were you considering, if it matters now, as a dead idea. The washer/dryer hookups are in the garage which means I'm gonna freeze my butt off doing laundry in the winter. I had thought of blocking off the part of the garage where the laundry is and making that a heated area. But...if I did that my car might just barely fit in the garage. So I guess I'll just insulate the outside walls and learn how to drywall. Oh yeah...InspectorMan said that there was a heating duct in that area that didn't connect to anything and should be blocked off. "Any way you could route it to the garage?"

It was slow during the debate - insanely slow.... but it's been better for me in the last few minutes.

In the manual you found me...jumper and BIOS settings for USB. Turns out the jumpers and BIOS appear to be set properly.

Hmmm, that is strange. I haven't heard of anyone else having problems. Are all your computers getting the same error? Might it be something in you DNS settings, or your DNS cache?

Oh, ok. Well, better to know I guess.
You might want to print out a copy of that manual, in case the online one goes away some day...

Ahhh... We had garage hookups in a place I lived... It worked OK to be a little cold when running out for a minute to change machines, and when the dryer was actively running it throws a little heat. I do remember running out there quicker when it was cold. How much colder are you than we are?

Too dang cold for my taste. :)
There's a couple of outlets out there. I've got a couple of space heaters but I don't like leaving them unattended. Maybe baseboard heat?

Yes, both Rose and I get the same error. I don't think it's a DNS issue, because the name resolves to the proper address. We just never get a response from your site.
I think there's some issue between RoadRunner and your site host... possibly some intermediary between the two that isn't working properly.
