Interesting, I wonder is SLAC was complying with the new National Electric Code Arc-Flash hazard identification requirements?
Probably not. If they weren't then when the inspection agency shows up after this accident there will me more toast than any cooked sandwiches in the "unidentified workers" pockets.....
The firm I am with is doing Arc-Flash hazard identification calculations and the associated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) training for a few large industries. This can be a serious issue that the electrical industry is just recently (past couple of years) starting to deal with.
