My son has to interview one Republican (me) and one Democrat for a school assignment. Two of my best friends are Democrat, but one is more a Socialist Green and the other a political operative/consultant. I am looking for a (Freeper) Democrat who can seriously answer each of the following questions in about 3 sentences (below are my responses):
What does it mean to be a Democrat? How is it different than being a Republican?
My responses (obviously opposite questions):
What it means to be a Republican is to emphasize personal responsibility and accepting the Constitution as he basis for our laws. These two precepts require as little government involvement in our economic and personal lives as possible.
Its different in that Democrats believe that the government should be the responsible for insuring equity rather than the individual. Democrats also believe in group rights rather than individual liberty. This concept stems from the belief that interpretation of the Constitution should change to suit moral relativism rather than be the anchor that prevents a ship from foundering in a storm.
Private reply preferable, but not required.

Hey.
Please stop placing all of your threads under the America -- the Right Way topic, please. The ATRW topic is meant specifically for ATRW threads for the purpose of indexing.
Thanks.

Hello!
This is a conservative forum and there aren't many democrats here. You might try other forums on the web. Have you ever used Google?
Your quite welcome and good bye for now.

You have much to learn about both Republicans and Democrats (as well as convservatives and socialists).
Luckily, you're in the right place if you really crave the truth.

I'd really like to, but I'm having a busy day before a business trip. I'm sure my fellow FReepers would be happy to discuss it. There are also plenty of threads on the subject, just use the search feature.
