Impeached Former President Bill Clinton seeks to become next Secretary General of the UN.
Current Secretary General Kofi Annan's term ends in 2006 and feelers are already being put out by Clintonista faithfuls to let the world know that Slick Willy is actively interested in the post.
The support of the US is required for someone who is seeking the position, but the thinking is if Kerry wins the support will be forthcoming since Kerry will be in Clinton's debt, but if Bush wins the idea is dead in the water.
What scared the hell out of me was imagining a world where Hillary is President of the US and IFP Bill Clinton is the Secretary General of the UN....that's just frightening to contemplate....
And, to my mind, gives more strength to a position I've espoused for now over 40 years...the US should be out of the UN and the UN should be out of the US! Let them move to Brussels--the United States has no need for the UN, it is not the other way around.
UN membership is, for the US, a waste of taxpayer money. The organization is nothing more than the employer of last resort for third world apparatchiks...and as an overall organization it's utterly ineffective.
Oh and by the way it really hates us.
The UN deserves Clinton. Within 2 weeks, he'll have examined all their confidential files, and will have fired all their worthless bureaucrats and replaced them with his own Arkansas cronies.
As long as none of them mind joining Buddy the Dog, Ron Brown and Vince Foster in the Mysterious Clinton Circle Of Death, bring it on.

I have said this many times. If Clinton become the Sec. Gen. of the UN, it will usher in the time of the anti christ. A pawn like Clinton is all the anti christ needs to fool and rule the world.
Although Clinton probably does want to be the first
President of the World, there are some problems.
1. The UN charter would have to be changed, because
the UN SecGen can't be a citizen of a Security Council nation.
2. There would have to be a Dem US President, for the
nomination to happen.
3. The member nations would have to vote him in.
The interesting thing about the UN thing is the timing.
It was announced at the same time the Kerry camp was
promising that BJC would be joining Kerry campaigning.
Is Bill laying out his terms for helping Kerry?
Or is Bill suffering "pump head", the mild-to-serious,
temporary-to-permanent dementia associated with the
use of heart-lung machines?
This is just as Bible prophecy predicts...the political sets the stage for the supernatural to happen...and there is a political Anti-Christ out there...hmmmm. He will be a world leader, and will claim to have supernatural powers, he will be someone who wants to be worshipped and he will come through the global community as a man of PEACE.
This is scary, and the "beast" is one of the names implied as to helping the Anti-Christ, or a name for him/her. ALSO there is a prophet involved who "helps deceive the very elect" into believing in the Anti-Christ as Christ reincarnated/born, not sure how that will be played out. This is truly scary stuff.
He must want in on the next "Oil for Food" scam. He'll probably appoint his wife as administrator so all the skimming stays in the family.

What a disturbing thread.... The world would give him #1 and #3 in a second just to spite GWB. #2 blocks it but in essence, that would be the only thing that would block it. I have thought through many undesirable scenarios should Kerry become president, but this one takes the cake.
Well I draw a lot of comfort from your point #1, though I wouldn't put it past the Clintons to figure a way around it.
As for point 2...God forbid Kerry wins, but then next around the corner is Hillary

You're reading too many Left Behind books. None of that stuff is in the bible.
1) You give legitimate reasons for why WJC cannot be UN SecGen; however, since when did rules ever apply to them?
2) WJC has been out of the media spotlight for +6 weeks after his surgery and its obvious he's not going to campaign for JFK - you pick the reason. There has to be some artifical reason to get his name back in circulation with the leftist chattering class. Ergo, the SecGen "floater".

I have not read any of the Left Behind books, and that is in the Bible, maybe some research with a Strong's Concordance on scriptures referring to the AntiChrist, and study in Revelations will clear that up for you.
The only way you can draw those conclusions is a very vivid imagination coupled with a disregard for the type of literature Revelation is, plus with some wrested scriptures and conveniently ignoring other plain bible statements. Left Behind/Premillenialism/Rapture = False Teaching.
