In the excitement of GW's victory, I decided to listen to talk radio last night. I usually don't listen to talk radio at night, so I didn't know what to expect.

What I got was this left wing weenie named Schultz. I don't know if his show was local (Palm Beach County AM station 1290) or nationally syndicated.

I listened for about 1/2 hour. Schultz was taking a lot of callers and below are some of the comments about President Bush being re-elected that I heard:

"There goes civil rights, women's rights, gay rights and animal rights."

"This is a slap in the face to the rest of the world."

"Progressive radio shows like this one will be censored by the FCC."

"They (Republicans) can't call themselves moral while denying health care to children and the elderly."

"A hundred thousand Iraqi's lost their lives for nothing." (I didn't understand this one.)

"The vote count must be rigged because it didn't match the exit polls."

"We should let them Southerner's have their Confederate States and be done with them."

"Bush and the Republicans don't have a mandate."

Most of the callers were on the point of hysteria. I felt sickened and sad for these people.

They will never understand that the government cannot provide universal utopia.

I tuned into Air American this a.m. The author of Boondocks was on. The host noted that election turnout was very high, and asked him "That's good, isn't it?" He replied, "Not if we don't get the results we want."

And they call us the fascists.
