I got a personalized Thank You letter from President Bush today. What I'm really shocked about is he handwrote this! I'm so excited. I can't believe it!

Yep. "Dear Daniel, Thank you for your great help on my campaign in Virginia. Your state played a critical role in this election..."
the Dear Daniel part is the give away for me...I only go by Daniel on my credit cards, pay check and mortgage.

On the one I got you can see that the 'Dear "_FirstName___"' and the state "_______________" are somewhat offset from the rest of the text although the salutation and state are correct. I was wondering if the whole letter was done by machine pen or the original was used as a master with enough space to insert the first name and the state. Nevertheless, it was a nice letter for relatively modest contributions.

Was it really made by machine?

Did you get the calendar? We use refrigerator magnets on front of the fridge to post all the pictures, thank yous, and what nots they send. And yes it is cool, and yes it drives my mother-in-law thru the roof.

Not sure I follow your point? No big point really I just wondered what got me on the mailing list this time. I was an e-mail team leader, I voluteered with the campaign and I made several contributions...mostly by credit card. By calling me Daniel i can tell that it was my credit card contributions that got me on this particular list. Any other activity would probably generate a letter to Dan. Anyway...it's still great to be recognized and appreciated for our help. W is a very classy guy.

Haha, I hope not. I got one too and I have put it away with all my other campaign goodies, pictures and Christmas cards collected over the last 4 years. I imagine it in some great-great granchildrens hands some day (*sigh*-now to work on my kids to give me grandchildren :).
