Does anybody know?

Hi FRiends,

I have a question for anyone that might be able to answer it.

I'm a Canadian who believes strongly in President Bush and the War of Islamic Terror. I would very much like to join the US Army (the Canadian one is embarrassing) and have spoken to recruiters over the border who say their hands are tied because I'm not a permanent resident or citizen. This seems fair enough of a statement but I don't wish to give up.

If anyone knows of any special immigration laws that allow a Canadian born Jew, (ie. not a terrorist) who's heart belongs to the USA, to join the military, please let me know.

I have read about illegal immigrants joining with fake SSNs but I refuse to stoop to such a level. I want to serve legally and pursue citizenship in the best country in the world.

Thanks for any help and comments, good or bad.

I seem to remember some non-citizens being in the US Military.

I hope this isn't a "spoof". According to recent news reports, illegals can join our military and be granted citizenship. Contact the state Dept.

Main address:
U.S. Department of State

Washington, DC 20520

Main Switchboard:

Nice profile. Who do you fly for? I have friends in BC with Air Canada. Maybe we know some of the same people.

I'm flying for a smaller carrier called Pacific Coastal, or Pasco. I'm sure your AC friends know it well!

There was a story on the news two days ago about a man who had served for two years, and then become a citizen. It's possible. Don't give up, and my thanks to you in advance.

If you can get yourself to Mexico you can pick up one of those cartoon books which will tell you how to get into the United States. Once you are here, go to any major metropolitan area and buy yourself a fake ID. Once you have that, you should be able to join the military.

I was planning on joining the army until I was at least a Permanent Resident, but preferably a citizen. The plan after that is to join the US Navy. Those F-18s call me night and day! The commitment is long but well worth it!

I live 5 minutes from the Peace Arch Border Crossing. I could be an illegal immigrant in 6 minutes, if I wanted to! Look up White Rock, BC on a map. I look out the window from my house and see the US every day.

I also happen to have Nexus on my Jeep, as I cross the border on average of 3 times a week, to buy groceries, gas, and shop at Abercrombie.

I'm totally opposed to buying a fake Green Card and wouldn't begin to know where to find one if I was looking. And one does risk the possibility of never being allowed into the US for providing fake documents. I don't think it's worth the risk. I'm looking for legal options.

I started out at ERAU Prescott, btw.

Good luck in getting into the U.S. military and may you always have a tail wind (unless taking off or landing!). What branch and type service do you want in the U.S. Military?

I understand one of our high level deputy commanders (Commander of U.S. Troops) in Iraq is a Canadian Citizen - in the Canadian Army -- how about that!

I was once in the National Guard and wish I could be now - but they don't want these worn out old bones. But I can support others!

Wish I could join the Marines today!
