Welcome to freerepublic.

Your reasonoing with the wording of the Constitution is wanting.

I will say this though. Women out of government. I truly believe way more than half the problems we face in making any sensible progress through the 3 branches of government is because women are involved. A good woman's advice is a very valuable thing to me. I won't get started on my wife's invaluable input she has given me over the years. I listen and I weigh it. I make the final decision.

So should it be.

Interestingly, this is neither news, nor breaking, yet it sits in Breaking News.

It's evening and time to feed the kitties.

The only reason we allowed you gals to take part in politics is because we felt sorry for you...

And let's face it. There's no way we could keep up during a filibuster. :)

You have a point. The Constitution did not allow women to vote in 1787.

Well, well, well...

How soon we forget the basics of the english language. It is and has always been tradition to assume the masculine when writing if gender is not specified. The Declaration of Independence says..."All MEN are created equal..." so women aren't created equal? Relating to this fine document, it meant MANKIND, which includes the womenkind.

Me thinks, you are thinking way too hard on this and you have too much time on your hands.

Though according to one of my old textbooks, now it is considered offensive to use 'he' or 'his' in the general, all-encompassing manner.

Isn't that his point? That since the feminists won't allow that the male pronoun was really meant as gender neutral, if everything must be taken literally, then what the Constitution says must be taken literally too. And you can't just rewrite that one.

Or else he's slamming people who DO read it literally, I can't tell which.

Women are too emotionally unstable, too much at the mercy of their hormones to successfully be President anyway. And they ought to cover their heads in church, the little hussies.

Ben Franklin wrote the Constitution?

I was always taught it was James Madison and George Mason...

Let me guess. You're now reading the TNIV, instead of the NIV, KJV, NKJV, or NASB translations of the Bible?

Do not be dismayed that you are being trashed by the really intelligent. The brainiacs often miss what is most obvious.

It is clear from the Bible that God is masculine. If the leader of everything is male, does it not follow that the leader of the free world should be also?

Take any married man, well, not one who has only been married a short while and is still in the throes of love and lust, but any married man who has settled in for the long haul, take him aside and ask him if he really wants another female making decisions for him. If he has been married too long, his voice no longer really counts because it has been so long since his voice mattered that he effectively no longer has a voice of his own and like a trained elephant will not stray whether his rope is still tied to the spike or not. But if you can find one who is neither too ripe nor too rotten, ask him in private what he believes in his heart of having a female as the Commander in Chief. He will, I promise, roll his eyes and make a gesture of cutting his testicles off with a pair of dull scissors.

Every intelligent person in the universe agrees that the framers of the Constitution of the United States were brilliant men who created an almost perfect document for the governing of a nation. The "they didn't mean what they said crowd" has an agenda that would ask you to not believe your own eyes or your own heart and instead deny your actual experience of the pain and suffering of female domination and pretend the current crop of women are all descendants of Cinderella. I have it from a good source that Cinderella was as sterile as she was good and it is her step sisters that ultimately triumphed to populate the world with their descendants. Oh they smile and work their wiles when seeking to fulfill worldly desires but once they have succeeded, look out.

You are also encountering the "linguists" who will do their best to tell you what the meaning of "is" is. A lot of fancy he/she/it footwork designed to strangle your manhood. It has NEVER occurred to them that the masculine was used on purpose for the simple reason that no man with a set would ever submit to the tyranny of PMS.

Nicholson said it best when asked how he, a man, could create such perfect female characters. "I just think of a man and take away reason and accountability." Such material , if you think about it for just a brief moment, is not Presidential.

This is a liberal trick. I realize it says "he" but only a complete neanderthal would think that by law only men can be president.
