ANYONE WHO WATCHED FOX from 8AM to 9AM this SUNDAY MORNING

Posted on 03/13/2005 6:18:00 AM PST by LauraleeBraswell

Did anyone here watch Fox News FROM 8AM to 9AM this SUNDAY MORNING?!!!

Did anyone see that Democrat- not sure of his name, but

he said he was working with Democrats and Republicans on a new bill- That every infant in the USA would get a 500 $ account- untouchable until they were 18, anyone can add to this account, and the 500 would have to be paid back at 30.

Has nothing to do with Social Security, but was being fronted as!

Anyone know his name? Anyone watch the show?

George McGovern promised to give every one $1,000 if he was elected in 1972! Got my vote.

What happens if you die between ages 18 and 30?

Does your "account" accrue interest between birth and 30?

Do you pay it back with interest?

Does Harold Ford really think most Americans are that stoopid?

Stating the obvious in the face of Liberal insanity: Saving for the future of the child should be responsibility of the parents..........especially if they give-a-hoot for the child's future.

Duh!

Wow!!!

A FREE $500!!!

I mean, no-one would be paying for that, right?

The Dems should just agree to give us all a million dollars each, then we'd all vote for them and we could all retire.

Yes, I did. The answer is the Democrats want to ignite another generational war at the other end, with productive citizens in the middle.

Call me a cynic, but I got an idea that there's gonna be a cottage industry of fake ID's with illegals collecting under dozens of names, checks being mailed to 55 year old Russian mafia alumi, increasing "benefits", means testing, the magilla.

Actually, I didn't hear the whole thing, because I got mad when he started with his crap about how bad the planning for the war was (they were talking about the weapons that got away), and how his constituents in Tennessee are really upset about the President's SS plan, etc.

Just more Bush-bashing by a dumb demo with no ideas - so I half tuned him out. But I did hear him say private accounts were a bad idea, and then I could have sworn I heard him say each child would have a private account when they were born!!

Of course, in all the arguments about whether it is a good or bad idea what will be lost is the basic issue of why should the government give anyone anything. Conservatives need to guard constantly against going along with any program that transfers money from the one person to another. These programs always move money from the have-nots to the haves and make all of us a little more dependent on the government. Anyone who thinks a Democratic idea does not have lots of government strings attached needs to have their head examined.

How does this differ from the $1000 refundable Child tax credit that everyone receives now?

I like the idea of locking the money away and repaying it. Perhaps they should have done that the Social Security surplus!!!

He's stated that the none of the constitutents in his district want SS reform. His yes, master constitutents (D) may not, but those GOPers unfortunate enough to live in his district do want SS refrom.
