All of the first round was pretty good, with Tommy Tutone being the worst. Vanilla Ice "sang" a totally new song, which apparently will be on some new album he's making, which gave him the clear edge in the voting. I didn't care for the arrangement of Don't Know Why, but I can appreciate The Motels wanting to make it a unique cover of the song. I didn't really care for Ice's new rap song because it didn't have any music with it. Rap songs need cool hooks. The Knack did a good job on both of their songs.

Did you happen to watch "Hit me Baby?"

Yes, I'm embarrassed to admit that I did watch it :) What happened to Tommy Tutone!? He looks like he's 80 years old. But Vanilla Ice looks like he hasn't aged a day since 1990. Weird.

You're right--summer TV sucks. I'm still holding out hope for Rockstar: INXS. The ads say that the singers will be performing live, but the clips that I've heard don't sound very promising ... Gack!

Hard to believe that we were watching 24 and AI just 3 weeks ago. Seems like an eternity.

Yes it does! Seem like an eternity that is. How are you doing?

Oh man! I hated the Motels version of Norah Jones' song. It was horrible. I thought Tommy Tutone did alright with their 2nd song though.

Wasn't Vanilla Ice's new song a cover of some Destiny's Child track? I thought the host said something like that. It wasn't good regardless, but Van Winkle made up for it with energy.

And what was the deal with Haddaway? There something creepy about watching a 40-ish man crawling on all fours singing a Britney Spears song :o

Doing well. Yep Haddaway was creepy. "Shudder" And that was Destiny's Childs song he did and it was horrible. Last night was just bad all the way around.

Yes, it was a cover, but not really. He only basicly took the "I'm a Survivor" quote of their song. The rest was an all new rap song he wrote.

Thanks for that ping. It does sound pretty good. Like I said the other day, I like Bo better when I don't have to see him.

I don't know why I feel that way, especially because I don't actually think he's unattractive, but something bugs me about him.

I want you to tell me who you think is the perfect womam. Just one.

Yep. The little ding-a-ling said Margaret Thatcher. I don't think he fires on all cylinders. :-)

I'll try to keep my tagline for a couple more days, but people are starting to talk! ;)

That's okay jonny. If you change it, I can remember it in my heart. :-)

"I'm hoping to hear something from Anthony and Scott soon.

Are we going to have to wait for AI to be done with them first?"

Yes, I guess so. I have to buy my concert tickets soon.

You're right. It does sound better after they fiddled with it. Quite good in fact. Both songs.

I got "Breakaway" yesterday! I haven't had a chance to listen to all of it yet, but I like what I've heard so far. (I'm listening to it now as I type :) Kelly's voice is something else! Even when she's singing softly every note resonates. She reminds me of Heart's Nancy Wilson.
