The FreeRepublic Saddle Club thread! - Thread FIVE

*New* The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

LOL...sorry. I was just on ebay looking for a pair of reebok hi-tops for me.

I HOPE we 're done with winter! YUCK!

I THINK Hair/ecurbh will be back Tues.

Markie hasn't said anyhting about being homesick to me. But she left a voicemail, and she sounded a little blue. And, she told Kelsi that she feels a little sad being alone for Easter. (hope M doesn't get too upset when she gets back. That darned 'Easter bunny', left droppings all over her bed! LOL!!!)

Hey Becky, Got a phone call today and my house will be here tommorrow at 10:00 am(first half) then they go back and get the second and bring it too. Glad it didn't rain too much this weekend and that they are giving it another day to dry. It should be real good for them to drive the big trucks on by tommorrow. I will try to call you later, I have some little things I still have to do up on the hill before they get here tommorrow.

He said if I couldn't keep Okies temp down with wetting him down...to put an ice cube in his rectum...

LOL!!! Now THAT I'd like to see! Especially the look on poor ol' Okie's face right after you did it, and the look on your face right after you picked yourself up off the ground! ;o)

Here's some pics of my trail ride on Friday. It was a gorgeous day!...

They cut out this log just a bit narrow, but it's a good obstacle to squeeze through...

Here's another that they cut, but didn't bother to take the chunk out of the middle. You just have to be careful when you step over...

I know y'all get tired of these, but here's more pictures of me climbing on rocks...(I love rocks)

Wow - I've never heard of the ice cube treatment. Yeh, I'd use that only as a last ditch effort I think. Seems like a horse would have to be awfully sick to stand for that.

Here's a couple more pics I took on Saturday when I went out to worm and vaccinate the boys...

Bob and Blade were playing with a cardboard box. Well, argueing over it was more like it. They eventually stomped and ripped it to death...

Right after this pic, Bob walked over and grabbed the rubber horse-head-shaped ball cover off my trailer hitch and took off with it, the silly goof. He can get into more stuff than you can keep him out of!

Friday morning when I was hooking up the trailer, I made the mistake of leaving my car door open. I had a cup of hot chocolate in the console, and he DRANK it, ALL! I'm just glad he didn't decide to take a chunk out of the seats!

He IS shedding, but what you're seeing in the picture is actually where he's got curly hair in the winter time and that's where his hair is parting. I started to call it cowlicks, but they're not there in the summertime. It does look kinda weird.
