We MUST isolate sex offenders now
March 25, 2005 | Scythian

Posted on 03/25/2005 7:45:37 AM PST by Scythian

There is another Amber alert in Iowa, a 10 year old girl taken by a known sex offender. This is totally out of control people, Marth Stuart is wearing an ankle bracelet yet we expect sex offenders to voluntarily check in? America is failing to protect her young, children are dying horrible deaths, why doesn't the Lord just rain down calimity upon us, that is my prayer right now.

America, you are nothing if you do not protect your children, sex offenders recommit their crimes, we know it, they know, yet we let them free to work in our schools and stalk their prey. Lord, wake up the nation, rain fire down upon us.

President Bush can pass emergeny legislation to protect one live, and that not even the life of a child yet stands idol while evil stalks our nations children.

Is it a fact that she was taken by a sex offender or is that just speculation?

No, she was taken by the Easter Spring Garden Bunny.

It's been out of control, for a long time and only getting worse. I'm at the point now, I'm following my twelve year old around outside when she plays. Friggin sad...when I was a kid, I woke up in the morning during summer vacation, grabbed my fishing pole, hopped on my bike, came back in time for dinner.

I was 12

I don't see my kids for five minutes, I freak.

And I'm not trying to make light of your anger - I share that and have been particularly troubled with this very issue lately. But just knowing how FReepers are, I can see it coming.

Ain't that the truth. Must lock up the pot smoker and let child molesters go....I would much rather live next to a pot smoker than a child molester.

Exactly!  I can't breathe normally until my youngest (10 yrs old) is safe in the house ... it's a terrible way to live.

Perhaps the prison guards need to look the other way more often.

Why pay for their housing? Let's change the way our courts work, then give them the Schiavo treatment.... that goes for first degree murderers also.

If I understand this correctly, people can find out which sex offenders are in their areas. Right?

We are getting ready to move into a new area, and the first thing I plan on doing, ok, the second or third, is to find out which SOs are in the area. Then I will print up flyers to disperse to everyone within a mile of his/her residence along with a pic and his car tag #s and style.

That way everyone in the area knows and knows who the person is. It's a neighborhood watch of sorts. Those with kids can monitor the situation. I hate to say it, but just as with protection against those breaking into homes and such, the best policy is handle it yourself as we can no longer count on the provisions by "the system."

I suppose the hope is then that perhaps the perves will move on. If not, fine, they get no trust from anyone in the neighborhood and everyone is fully aware.

These people should clearly not be "on the streets" amongst the public at large. But in a society where convicted felons have more rights than hard-working, decent Americans, it won't happen.

Furious is an okay description. It makes me sick to see these people wasting our oxygen. I truly don't see how these libs say that it is perfectly okay to remove Terris life line, yet we must not kill these sick people. If there were ever the need of a 'mercy killing' it is to kill these sick people. I just wish that we could get the same type of outrage about this.

Seriously,

If we classify pedophilia as a disease, can we not keep pedophiliacs in state mental hospitals until they are cured -- which, at the current state of our knowledge means until they croak, since there seems to be no cure? Would this address the "Cruel and unsual punishment" and "due process" issues?

My impression, very possibly wrong, is that the problem is that we cannot give indeterminate prison sentences fro crimes. So I'm thinking, okay, sentence the person appropriately for the crime (staking out on ant-hill would be good)And/or acknowledge the pathological aspects of this and confine them until they are well -- not as a punishment but as "treatment".

Okay, flame away, but be gentle. I'm just trying to find a legal fraemwork that allows us to lock these SOBs up for the rest of their natural lives.

Did you see the story from Iran about the child murderer?  Quick trial & execution ... they had the mother of one of the victims put the rope around his neck and the brother of another leaped from the crowd & stabbed him.  Now that is how to deal with these scum.

Can't do that, we got druggies to put in jail you know. It's for the children.

There's room for both: Great bedfellows.
