I understand most of these guys are meth-heads. I heard this morning that Europe does not sell over the counter products that contain pseudo ephedrine, a necessary component of meth.

I know this will not halt the pervs completely, and this is a little off topic, but why has Europe banned this chemical for almost two years now and we have not? Could it be more people but pseudo ephedrine based products for meth production that for legitimate reasons? Would sales plummet if it is no longer available? Is this about greed and total disregard of our children's welfare?

I have a sexual offender in my area (i live in a suburban area) a few houses away and I cant even write a note saying I know of his presense and if he ever so much as looked my general direction my 2nd ammendment rights will be enacted without haste.

Its viewed a federal felony if I did that. With all these innocent kids getting killed and raped, I am the criminal if I make the known sexual offender aware of my intolerance of his disgusting and horrible preference of child desires.

I would like to see murderers, muggers and burglars isolated as well as sex offenders.

is to find out which SOs are in the area. No matter where you live there will be 4 or 5 within a block of you, different levels of offenders mind you, but I can almost guarantee you there will be one with 5 house of you no matter where you live.

There's room for both: Great bedfellows.

No, there isn't room for both.

"Druggies" usually serve mandatory minimums, which means that pedophiles may get reduced sentences when there is a shortage of prison space. So because of the War on Drugs, child molesters may walk free. Isn't that ironic when they tell us that the War on Drugs is being waged "for the children".

I hate drugs, but this country has its priorities all out of whack. From what I have observed, pot smokers do not appear to be violent or sick enough in the head to go after kids, so in that sense it would be better to have a pot smoker as a neighbor if you have kids.

We clearly need tougher laws against these chi-mos. I'm thinking Capital Punishment laws in all of the 50 states would be a nice little start. You know for absolute certain that all the liberal groups would be opposed to the death penalty on this one. I'm not sure where all the Republicans would line up on this issue. I sense an uphill political battle in all the 50 states, but it would definitely be worth a shot at trying to get the death penalty enacted.

Allowing for a provision in the law authorizing firing squads would be a nice touch, to make the point crystal clear that we will not tolerate chi-mos as a civilization.

Chi-mos, Chi-coms, they're all bad.

I agree and have no problem with the death penatly for chi. mol., we should rid them from the earth.

And, please know that I hate drugs also, but like you, agree that our priorities are out-of-whack.

We live in a small city in SW Florida (Sarasota) and went to the SO website Monday to see who was registered in our area. There were 14 pages of sexual offenders and predators. 14 pages!!

The recidivism rate for SO's is 100%. The scum who killed Jessica Lunsford understood this and asked for help (after a previous molestation) or else he would abuse again. Even with the warning, nothing was done. The problem is a system of laws that believes these monsters can be rehabilitated. They cannot. Our deficient laws along with liberal judges and bleeding heart parole boards are entirely responsible for these monsters being given free reign to commit their violent acts on our innocent children again and again.

With so many children being killed by repeat offenders you have to wonder where the outrage is. Following your children to school or panicking when they are not heard from in 10 minutes has become an acceptable way to live. Living in fear is wrong and it's time something was done to force the issue.

Jessica Lunsford's father has begun a petition to force the courts to imprison all first time sex offenders for 50 years without any possibility for parole. Even if it passed, I'm sure our Supreme Court would reject it as unconstitutional. However, unless the public begins to take control this issue nothing will change. It is clear our politicians are unable or unwilling to do anything to stop this horrendous problem.

This plague on our nation is just another outcome of the bleeding heart liberals on our courts who allow these scum to roam around attacking our children.

Instead they have refused to feed a defenseless disabled woman. The parallels are just astounding.

You are so right, but in the end what can we do. Honestly, we ought to (as parents and concerned non-parents) have a 10 million person March on Washington, and camp their for a freaking week. WHAT CAN WE DO !!!

If we don't do something, FoxNews will just continue to make money off of these stories (and the other sicko media outlets)

Agree with a lot of what has been said here. A friend was brutally raped by a man she knew (but was not involved with in any way). He strangled her and left her for dead but she was playing possum, called the cops. They got him a few days later. Ran his DNA and it showed he was responsible for 3 other child rapes and one child rape/murder. He was already out on parole for a child attempted kidnapping. At his trial the judge allowed, in the sentencing phase, women to come forward who had been molested by him starting when he was 12. This evidence was sealed at the trial. He got life without parole. This one monster has done horrible things to a dozen woman, that we know of.

The police were supposed to be watching him, they were not. He was violating every part of his parole, including living with a woman with a child. His car trunk contained a book with long lurid descriptions of sex crimes he wanted to commit. He had written it as part of his court ordered psychiatric treatment. Part of his parole was that he was supposed to give a DNA sample. He had avoided this for two years. The DNA sample was all that was needed to link him to the murder and other rapes.

What I saw in this case reinforces many of the comments made above.

We can start an email or snail mail campaign to our office holders - DEMANDING action on this problem.

I heard some judge say that "mandatory sentencing" was MERELY A SUGGESTION AS TO HOW THE JUDGE SHOULD RULE.

Such arrogance has to be stopped. If a judge makes a ruling based on his private interpretation of the law - he needs to be impeached - IMMEDIATELY. After a few of these cases .. perhaps judges would begin to get the picture.

The House is the sole arbitor of impeachment. The House can impeach these judges who flaunt the law.

Our legislators HAVE TO HEAR FROM US!! It's critical.
