123! 123 Threads in three (3) days! What the heck is going on? I know this is a very important issue to a lot of people, and I too have very striong feelings, but Holy Mackerel! This is embarrassing. Just look at some of these headlines, threads, and vanities.

When I booted up the puter this morning, I was sickened by this thread: "Terri Bleeding From Eyes and Mouth". Would you want this for someone you know? Is this what we FReepers have become? No better than the sesationalistic lamestream press? I can hardly believe this is my beloved, cherished, respected FRee Republic.

This may even serve as a temporary OPUS, until she (unfortunatly) passes. Go ahead and flame me, I can take it, but I hope I made a couple of you stop and think.

This is one of the most significant issues of our time, and it cuts to the heart of a number of issues that are important to us - the right to life, corruption in government, the runaway judiciary, and the nature of marriage, just off the top of my head.

I agree with you. It seems like almost every member on FR wants to post a Schiavo post of their own. This forum has become as bad as ON THE RECORD with Greta Van Boring.

I feel very strongly about this case as I'm sure most of us do. I do agree with you though Clyde, the excessive threads, especially the vanities, have gotten a little outta control, this is not what we are about. That said: God Bless Us All this Easter weekend and God bless Terri and her family in her final hours.

Many people believe this case represents a decisive turning point for our country, or at least for the culture war waging in our country--and a turning point very much for the worse. It's hard to say, but if they are correct, then the 123 threads are not enough and represent no more attention here than the case has received from the mainstream media. Of course, the threads that spread wild rumors are a problem, but if you want real information about the case, where would you go? I mean, they are already making Michael Schiavo and his enablers into saints.

Yes I agree, but this seems to me to be a bit out of hand. I would rather see the discussions stay at a more rational level, rather than this site turning itself into the National Enquirer.
