well giving Morphine to a person being starved and dehydrated WILL ACCELERATE HER DEATH. Same difference but more PC.

Why does she need morphine for "this peaceful process"? I guess they want to kill her quicker now.

I will post something positive, and commend you for tracing out the implications from the premises.

passive denial of life is as far as they've gotten on this one. active cessation is another step down the road. and then the matter of means becomes an issue of econometrics and conditioning of the public mind.

Why the hell not? He's a judge and can do what he pleases, inalienable rights be damned. It's not like there's any law authorizing him to starve her to death, but he managed to get away with that, no problem, and the Governor and the President are letting him get away with it.

Where does this power come from?

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe it derives from the fact that she would almost certainly choke to death, and the law usually requires that one not increase suffering of those who have chosen to terminate life support (even though they're going to die).

A judge can order just about anything just as he told the Florida elected Senate and House that they would be held in contempt if they tried any thing. If you are held in contempt you can be arrested and held forever without trial in direct violation of the Constitution. But then they do not care about the Constitution anyway.

In Florida the police have the authority to shoot and kill for just about any reason. And have done so. There are many instances of unarmed people being killed and nothing is ever done.

Yes, believe it or not, she was not to receive anything by mouth to prevent choking............

And for the rest of you friends who have tired of this discussion, i would say you should be tolerant a little while longer. Wait till she is dead and our sorrow can get no deeper. would you make fun of people at a wake? why make fun of someone in their grief?

For everyone who desired Teri to be dehydrated and starved unto death:

Would you have been willing to smother her with a pillow until she died?

If not why not? I have no problem stepping on a roach but I would kill a dog only with great need.

If you think she only has the rights of an insect, why wouldn't you volunteer to kill her yourself.

"Could he order a lethal injection.."

Your wish was being granted as you typed.

Morphine....kills people who are as severely dehydrated as Terri at lightening speed.

ZOT!!!

Mr. Jim Noble,

You asked a very valid question. Im ashamed that our fellow FReepers feel the need to deride you rather than make an attempt to answer your question.

Allow me to make an attempt.

You asked where this "power" comes from and whether or not a judge could simply give her a lethal injection.

I am of the opinion, that neither the judge nor the court actually do have this "power" and that it is clearly judicial tyranny and an abuse of power.

Im interested in the subject very much myself and am glad you asked the question.

A logical question that calls for a logical answer. From all that I have witnessed so far, Judge Greer could have ordered her ran through a wood chipper feet first and the MSM, the democrats, Sophisticate elite Freepers and the entire Judicial system would have supported him all the way.

Dead from natural causes is dead from natural causes. Dead by the deliberate actions of another, intent upon ending your life without your permission, is murder, whether administered by starvation or by a bullet.
