Alabama Brother, Sister Arrested for Incest

Alabama Brother, Sister Arrested for Incest Mother Turned-In Siblings After Allegedly Catching Them Having Sex

TRAFFORD, Ala. (April 20) - A brother and sister were arrested on felony incest charges after the man's wife called sheriff's deputies, who allegedly caught the siblings having sex.

Ronald Stewart Howze, 44, of Trafford, and Lori Ann Rotton, 41, of Smyrna, Ga., were arrested around midnight on April 7, said Jefferson County sheriff's spokesman Randy Christian. They remain jailed Wednesday with bond set at $50,000 each.

If convicted, Howze and Rotton could each be sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Authorities said Howze's wife believed her husband and his sister were having sex so she called deputies. The wife let the officer into their trailer home, and the deputy saw the siblings having sex in a bedroom, Christian said.

The officer had to twice tell the couple to stop, and the officer's report quoted the man as saying "I guess I'm going to jail" after they finally complied, according to Christian.

Both brother and sister had been drinking, and Rotton was initially taken to a hospital because she appeared so intoxicated, Christian said.

The man told the officer he wanted to "go out crazy" after being diagnosed with cancer, The Birmingham News reported Wednesday.

Tommy McFarland, an attorney representing Howze, said his client told him he could not remember what happened. Howze said he suffers from seizures and asked to see a psychiatrist, according to McFarland.

Rotton is set to make her first court appearance Thursday.

Supposedly anyone in Alabama can take skin grafts from anyone else, recent immigrants excepted. What's the big deal?

I haven't read all of the responses yet, so if someone else brought this up I apologize. But, is it possible this is a set up to file a lawsuit to legalize incest? This is similar to the story I read somewhere about the Lawrence case in TX, where someone calls the police to "catch" two homosexuals in the act, only to end up before the SCOTUS, thus making sodomy laws unconstitutional.

"This story has it all."

But...But wait, there's more. Was the wife there to let Officers Cletus and Jethro in or did she arrive home to discover the situation?? It might be interesting to know just how she came to suspect them of this shameless activity.

the deputies saw the two men in Texas too, but the Independent Supreme Court overturned their conviction because of "privacy" issues and international law ...

maybe Justice Kennedy will do research on the internet to determine whether or not incest is acceptable under foreign law!

p.s. I'm from Alabama and I'm 'astounded' too

This is the defense for the brother/sister act.

"Incest laws were written to keep people from have defective offspring"

Therefore it is only incest if they produce defective offspring.

If she does not get pregnant then they will not produce defective offspring therefore it cannot be incest - only a private sexual matter as we learned form Bubba Bill Clinton.

Dang. I forgot to repeat the chorus.

"Sister Blues"

Got drunk this mornin,
My sister and me.
My wife was working,
But sister was free.

We was a rocking,
The cops came on in.
Told us to stop it,
Then said to stop again.

I got the arrested for having sex with my sister blues.
Now everyone has seen us in the news.
This is a Rotton deal no matter what I lose.
I got the arrested for having sex with my sister blues.

Now I am thinkin,
Where did I go wrong.
Shoulda called a cousin,
Some jerk will write a song.

I got the arrested for having sex with my sister blues.
Now everyone has seen us in the news.
This is a Rotton deal no matter what I lose.
I got the arrested for having sex with my sister blues.

You Never Even Call Me By My Name
David Allan Coe

It was all I could do to keep from cryin'
Sometimes it seemed so useless to remain
But you don't have to call me darlin' darlin'
You never even call me by my name.

You don't have to call me Waylon Jennings
And you don't have to call me Charley Pride
And you don't have to call me Merle Haggard anymore
Even though you're on my fighting side.

And I'll hang around as long as you will let me
And I never minded standin' in the rain
But you don't have to call me darlin' darlin'
You never even call me by my name.

Spoken:

I was drunk the day my mama got out of prison
And I went to pick her up in the rain
But before I could get to the station in the pickup truck
She got ran over by a damned old train.

So I'll hang around as long as you will let me
And I never minded standin' in the rain
You don't have to call me darlin' darlin'
You never even call me....
Well I wonder why you don't call me...
Why don't you ever call me by my name.
