Coming to work today, I was listening to Paul Harvey when I heard him say; "Conservatives compete; Liberals cooperate."
Now I trust Paul Harvey, so I think he was using a quote, or being sarcastic, but as I tried to consider what that meant, I just became more and more confused.
Conservatives compete, Liberals cooperate...... Man, that seems so wrong on so many levels.
I had that exact same reaction.
I get that Harvey must be, like so many here, a druggie-enabler.
The best "sense" I can make of it in context is that liberals cooperate with each other, conservatives compete with everybody.
Just a guess; I burst out "What the heck is THAT supposed to mean?!", too.

Consevatives create wealth; liberals steal it.
Conservatives won't compromise their ideals.
Liberals have no ideals so EVERYTHING that is popular is agreeable to them.....
and another thing...the Liberals of today are not really liberal in the classic sense....
Is it conservatives or liberals who think schools should build children's self-esteem instead of challenge them?
Is it conservatives or liberals who have "group learning" in schools instead of individual grades?
Is it conservatives or liberals who castigate the successful as "greedy"?
And the trees were all kept equal by hatchet, axe, and saw.

Hell if I know! That is mind boggleing. Are you sure you heard it right?
He heard it right. Harvey was still &itching and moaning about the SC decision in re marijuana, saying Rehnquist, usually a states' rights supporter, got steamrolled, or something to that effect.
Dan
Thank you...
That means Conservative WORK to do better.
