We used to play in the irrigation ditch! You've never had a good time until you swim against the current on a hot day.
...then again I'm always "swimming upstream" it seems.

More than a few people have drowned swimming in irrigation ditches.
I'm not recommended against it, I just wanted to point that out. ;)
