Joshua apparently approves!! Yeah, after you've done it a few times, you'll get more used to eating them.
Good to see you back at home. 2J is right; being out of the hospital is good. Too many germs in that place! Hope you continue to improve.
Roger that. :-) It's way better to be home.
Haven't tried 'em yet. Not really enough pain to bother with meds just now. It's Oxycodone. Pretty big hammer, that. I'll wait.
But then again... the hospital gave me IV shots of Morphine-- now *that* stuff was nice. :-) Holy Moly...
Hi there! :-)
Settling in for the evening here. Surrounded with supplies. Maybe gonna put in a movie later.
How's things been? What'd I miss? Guess I should go back and start catching up...
mmm Oxycodone. SSQ had that during his 'back adventure' a few years ago. Worked REAL good!
Hi - we just got home from Mt. St. Helens... Had a gorgeous trip up there, and we're beat :~D Will be uploading pics in a moment!
Soooooo glad you're home!
Can't wait to see the pictures! Glad it turned out to be a nice day for seeing the mountain.
Not much happened this weekend, so it wouldn't take you long to catch up.
We were all worried about ya, for the most part.
Approaching the mountain...
Below... The grey skeletons of remaining blown-down trees up on the hill. Though the lower areas of the forest and all the Weyerhauser land has all been replanted and has trees approaching 25 years old, the land inside the monument zone was not replanted... it's a study to see how it recovers without intervention.
The sides of the hills in the blast zone were scalped down to bare rock... These hills previously would have held tall old growth timber.
The mountain from Johnston Ridge... smoking a little today, it's front yard still very much like moonscape :~D
Propped a couple people in front of it :~D
So.... that's our volcano trip! Was a fun day all around, I always enjoy seeing it again.
cool picses!
She sure was. I was proud of her.
She listened intently when the instructor gave us the crash course and applied almost everything she learned.
We both plan on going back just as soon as my bruises have healed. How on earth can folks ride a horse without getting bruises on their rear from the saddle?
A fantastic adventure to be sure. :-D
And it looks like the weather cooperated!
My butt never hurts, my knees tire first, and my feet. ;~D
Part of it is spreading your weight between your feet and your butt, so all the weight isn't in one place :~D
You're asking the wrong gal. I haven't been on a horse in over 35 years!
Terrific pictures! I'm glad OT got to see a little bit of smoke rising from the volcano!
It was a general question, Suzi. Horse folks must grow callouses or sumthin'. ;-)
I know part of the problem is that I was nervous, so I didn't allow myself to relax. As a result, I bounced around since I wasn't leaning back with my heels down as I was told.
At one point, I felt like the saddle was slipping to one side and I slowed Katy down immediately.
After that, I didn't do more than a walk.
I guess I was supposed to lift myself off of the saddle using my legs instead of trying to force myself down into the saddle.
It just seems impossible to do if you're trying to lean back.
I'm beat.
See you all in the morning.
Riding uses different muscles and different instincts than anything else... But it gets easier... :~D You want to get weight in the stirrups instead of perched on top with your legs dangling. The lower you can put your weight, the more stable you are...
I guess they'd have to! ;o)
