Ours had an annoying habit of dying completely on the freeway for a couple of seconds. We could not diagnose the problem because the onboard computer would never show a failure code when its memory was checked. We believed the sudden failure of the engine at cruising speed, for no apparent reason, made the car a catastrophic accident waiting to happen I hear the toyota Prius does that too.

For driving around clients you need room. A Caddy or full size or SUV Buick, Pontiac/GMC, or Lincoln would be perfect. I would stick to Ford or GM. There are many people who have strong negative feelings about riceburners, me included, and stereotype a business that support Asia or Europe car makers. If I see a business with riceburners as vehicles, I shop elsewhere.

NEW start at $86K.

Good grief! That's $22K more than I paid for my house!

Yeah..but can your house do 0-60 in 4.7 sec, stop on a dime, handle as if on rails, encompassed in leather and air-bags all around?

HUH?? CAN IT?? ;^)

about the rolls royce i heard they have lifetime warranty on the engine. I heard a story from a friend , said his uncle bought a rolls real cheap....had a bad motor. So he calls ROlls to inquire about parts to fix the engine, they asked him for his address and a few days later a Rolls technician was there with an engine and even put it in.

Not true since BMW took them over. No more lifetime warranties.

We love it! It has more options than we ever had in any of our cars......sirius satellite radio, GPS navigation system, winch.. etc.etc.

For a BIG truck, it's comfortable and the greatest for off-road we've ever had.

We live in the Colorado mountains so we needed something dependable for the snow.

I think we've found it:-)

go to Carmax and get a decent used one... the first 1,000 dollars you spend on a new car goes to paying healthcare costs for union members

I noticed there was an error in the ad I linked to in my previous post (msg #66). The ad state there is no ABS in the BMW 525I, which is nonsense. BMW refers to their 'ABS' as 'DBS' (Dynamic Brake Control), which might have been the cause of confusion to the ad guy. The BMW 525 will stop on a dime. The 525 also has 'All Season Traction' control which gives the 'slipping' wheel more traction; and it has 'Dynamic Stability Control', a remarkable system that will help prevent sliding on slick surfaces. It is a very safe vehicle.

I have a 2002 silver Saab 9-3 which is a lovely, stylish car that I got for only about 30k new. Newer Saab's don't have the hatch (which I like a lot). The interior is nice, distinctive, and luxurious without being excessive.

The only problem is that shortly after I got it, it seemed the brand became fairly gay. No idea when or how that happened, sorry. It hasn't been a problem for me though, as I don't tend to care about that much.

I have no idea what my next car will be, except that it won't be American made or German. That really limits my options!

Too bad you are limiting your options. But you can always seek out a used Yugo.
