Manning= 3-5 in the playoffs OVERRATED
Brady= 9-0 in the playoffs OVERRATED

You get the sense that someone just wants to talk?

Vick should be #1 overrated, EVER.

Putting a so-so RB in as QB is a lot like putting that super short person (I don't know the PC phase -- "little person?") in baseball with no strike zone.

He the football equivilant of the Harlem Globetrotters -- fun to watch but can't play the real pro game.

This is the year he will get decked. Badly. And you can blame his injury on his coaches for making him think he might be a real QB.

I DO NOT want this to happen. But I predict it will.

I think most quarterbacks have thrown passes they'd like to have back. However, I'd like to see Favre's bad passes multiplied by a factor of at least two. :)

Just because someone is good does not mean they are not overrated

If I were Coughlin I would have kept Warner for the year, had him show his stuff, then trade him and put Manning in as the starter

Jerry Greene? Who is this guy? Oh, he writes for the Orlando Sentinel, that explains it.

Yep, overrated means... unwarranted praise. How is Manning, "the best in the league" overrated? Would this guy rather have say David Carr than Peyton Manning? I think Carr is average, but I wouldn't go out of my way to try and draft him.

Yep, overrated means... unwarranted praise.

Yeah, but if you consider the ratio of perceived accomplishments/ability to actual accomplishments, the list is about right except for Manning.

By the amount of press the Tom Brady gets, one would get the impression that he plays every position and gives every cent of his salary to charity.

Not a lot is expected from a lot of the young guys and they don't really get a lot of praise. In fact most of them receive mostly negative publicity so its hard for them to be overrated.

As far as Manning, he is the best QB in the league but is only perceived by many as the 2nd or 3rd best QB so I would put him in the underrated category.

Brady gets praised for things that didn't actually do. Somehow he gets credit for the Patriots wins as if the he doesn't play on the team with the #1 ranked defense. That is like Trent Dilfer getting the credit for the Ravens' superbowl victory.

For example, if Brady were traded to a 3-13 team, it if very doubtful that he would lead them to the conference championship game. Manning did that.

Yep, lets see how far Brady goes with one of the worst defenses, like Manning has. Not to mention that a lot of Brady's wins have come from the leg of his kicker. :D

Calling Peyton Manning underrated would be a stretch, most people appreciate the fact that he is all but rewriting the record books (Marino did that) but he's taking second in an aweful lot of stuff, and first in a few things. It takes more than a "good" QB to throw for over 4000 yards, 49 touchdowns with only 9 interceptions, go to and star in the pro bowl, get a season passer rating of over 120 and have three recievers each get over 1000 yards recieving and 10 tds. Manning is something special

My previous posts on this subject to you have made this observation a really silly one. I hope you will understand the NFL much better now.

Yawn.

Yawn.

Yeah, now I can see why you keep posting the same naive misconceptions over and over.

In the future why don't you preface your posts with something like "I think that people I am fans of are the greatest. I will not read any posts that questions the greatness that I assign to these people so don't waste your time trying to point out any naive opinions I have."

That would save everyone a lot of time.

Actually, that Landover team has won three Super Bowls, how many has Philly won again?

Wow, never heard that one before.

All the Landover squad has to do is hope for another strike season, and maybe they'll have a shot at another.

Don't the Eagles have three NFL Championships? Oh, that's right, only semi-recent NFL history counts when you're relying on former glory to fill the void of having a real team here in the present. I understand, I'd be living in the past, too, if little Danny Snyder was running my team. But I hope you realize, those dusty strike-season trophies present as much of a threat to the Eagles dominance of the division your team plays in than the current Redskins do. Which is to say, none whatsoever.

Enjoy the season. I know I'm going to.

Me, too. Especially when Pinkston goes over the middle, hears distant footsteps, and chickens out allowing the ball to sail over his head, bringing up 4th and long...... :)

All kidding aside good luck this season, I know the Eagles will the team to beat in the NFC this year..

Especially if they're Sean Taylor's footsteps... you never know if they're going to be followed by gunshots or not. {rimshot}

But in all seriousness, Pinkston does need to grow a pair. I like him as a player, but I can't keep defending him if he keeps hitting the deck on national tv. It's getting embarrassing.

Again, enjoy the season. Your defense is going to keep the Skins in a lot of games. With an elite D, anything can happen.
