reading books on Dracula can be enchanting and very distracting!

I did that a while with the Stoker and some of Anne Rice...

I am so entice by anything in a historical setting so novels always seem to be inviting to me!

How many are game to walk out there?

Grand Canyon to Get Glass-Bottomed Walk Fri Aug 26,12:23 AM ET

Great views — and plenty of goosebumps for those afraid of heights.

An American Indian tribe with land along the Grand Canyon is planning to build a glass-bottomed walkway that will jut out 70 feet from the canyon's edge.

The horseshoe-shaped skywalk, expected to open in January, is part of the Hualapai Tribe's $40 million effort to turn 1,000 acres of reservation land into a tourist destination that will also feature an Indian village and Western-themed town.

The tribe's reservation is some 200 miles by road to the west of the section of the Grand Canyon National Park that most tourists visit.

The walkway, with a glass bottom and sides, will be supported by steel beams and will accommodate 120 people, though it is designed to hold 72 million pounds, said Sheri Yellowhawk, chief executive officer of the Grand Canyon Resort Corp., the tribal-owned company that is overseeing the project.

"You're basically looking 4,000 feet down. It's a whole new way to experience the Grand Canyon," Yellowhawk said.

Admission will be $25. The project is still seeking an insurer, said architect David Jin, who said he came up with the skywalk idea while visiting the canyon in 1996.

Swervie isn't banned. Hopefully he's not bored; he's with me, and I'm not giving him back for at least 2 more weeks. I'll tell him ya'll were asking about him. ;o)

Can you imagine if there was a crack and you could not get off fast enough?

I thought I dealt quite well with Miss Congeniality today. She decided she was going to play her little "I'm not going to talk to you" game. She also tried the "I'm not going to give you the satisfaction of doing anything for me" game. Instead of playing her power games and trying to find ways to persuade her to talk, when she said "I don't have anything else to say." I said, "neither do I. You can go." She stormed out and slammed the door. She will be really annoyed when she finds out that I'd already hung out with her son for awhile. This is without a doubt the most paranoid, defensive person I've had to work with in along time!

My other case made my day, though. The mom really appreciated me taking her down to spend time with her baby in neo natal ICU What a precious little girl. Kinda took the edge of the nasty b*tch with the attitude.

"Maybe we can arrange an 'accident'..."

I hear that it was chaos at the office again today. We're all joking (well, only HALF joking really) about needing "P pills" (P, for her initial), since at least one of my coworkers got put on Xanax to deal with the stress resulting from having to put up with her crap. Fortunately, I already had P pills. I just hope they can get rid of this dingbat before something really serious happens as a result of her incompetence.

"While no kitty will ever fill the void, I'll betcha some smart little one will find his/her way to your doorstep before too long."

Thank you,Darlin'. Yes, it is very quiet without him. I still expect to hear him meow when I open the door in the evening, and I feel guilty whenever I drain a can of tuna in the sink. It's supposed to go in the cat food dish. I'm staying really busy, which I suppose is good. Keeps me from thinking about it too much.

How are things down there? Katrina is dancing perilously close to you, isn't she?
