One day, perhaps you can post some of those old pics of NY...I've got an old one, taken from the crown of the Statue of Liberty, looking at Manhattan....you can see the WTC...I wish the quality of the photo was better...but it was quite a thrill being up in Miss Liberty.

I also like the bridge in San Francisco...have you ever seen that one? (I forget the name of it right now.)

The Golden Gate Bridge - Yes I have pics of that also but I would have to search to find them. My daughter is in San Francisco at the moment.

Yes, the Golden Gate Bridge...that's absolutely beautiful to see at night.

I always had fun in San Francisco....haven't been there in years...it's beautiful there....I've taken pictures of Lombardo Street....that's been used in movies...it's a steep road and winds back and forth....looks very cool from down below looking up....but it's not a place I'd want to live! ; )

I also like dams....have you seen the Hoover Dam? I took a tour there, once; it was quite fascinating to learn about.

I guess I didn't make myself clear. I had to go to Little Rock yesterday to visit "Miss Congeniality." She's the client from hell. She is also pregnant, due next month. Think "spawn of Rosemary's baby). Anyway, her son that is with her there is 6, and she doesn't like me, or anyone else, talking to him without her around. I guess she's afraid of what he might reveal. Like I said, she's very paranoid.

Since I had to go anyway, I decided to kill two birds with one stone and I took another of my clients with me. She had her baby in Little Rock because she was high risk. The baby was 6 weeks premature. The mom got out last Sunday, and the baby will have to stay until she gains enough weight to be released, but it isn't easy for her to get to Little Rock very often. She doesn't drive and her husband works. So anyway, I got to see the little darling. One of the prettiest, most perfect babies I've ever seen, and very healthy. And she smiles, almost laughs. She is just a delightful baby. I left that mom at the hospital while I went to deal with Miss Congeniality. I saw her son when he first got there from school and talked to him awhile. His mom is p*ssy about everything. It is just ingrained in her personality. She is one of those people you just want to pop upside the head on general principles.

The dingbat is the coworker. She was hired as a county supervisor, but was quickly demoted, but because the probationary period passed, they can't get rid of her easily. She still fancies herself above most of the jobs the rest of us do....the jobs that she was hired to supervise. She had no experience, but she had a master's degree. I've often wondered if it was a mail order one. Anyway, everyone who has to deal with her wants her gone. She is a serious liability, in more ways than one. Her supervisor knows that, but her butt is on the line, too, so she has to make sure she covers all the legal bases before she tries to get rid of her, so we're all having to spend a lot of time documenting examples of her incompetence, and believe me, there are plenty of examples to document. So there is that, in addition to "helping" her do her job (which, in reality, means doing it for her), fixing her screw ups AND covering our own butts (as a team) because our reputation is on the line.....and doing our own jobs!

"you're going in to the office today?"

I'm afraid I must. The good thing is that I should be able to work without distractions, as long as the on call worker doesn't come in with an emergency.

Hmmmmmm, I wonder if she actually has a degree? Lying on one's resume is cause for dismissal, even after a probation period...

Ooooooh, okay; I thought Miss Congeniality was your dingbat co-worker, lol!

That's a shame about Miss Congeniality's non-personality. How is she with her son?

I bet it was hard for the other mother to leave the hospital when it was time to go. I can't imagine that...I'd want to camp out there.

Documenting her incompetence....what a pain...however, it will hopefully produce the necessary results. I don't understand why companies think that a college degree means a person is more competent to do a job, and will pass over those who are competent because they don't have a college degree; if they applied that standard back in the old days, hardly anyone would have ever been promoted; but it seems to me, those who lacked a college degree did their jobs with greater competence, overall. A degree is a piece of paper...doesn't really speak to one's abilities, imho.

Hopefully you won't be needing to stay at work for too long...and you will make a dent in short order! : )

That is a pretty bridge --- they have much more charm than our utilitarian modern ones.

"I wonder if she actually has a degree?"

We've sometimes wondered the same thing, but I had to produce my college transcript when I applied, as did my co-workers. Standard procedure. She apparently worked for DOC for several years. I don't know her exact history. But what really frosts me is that at least 3 people from our office with seniority applied for the position. Two of them were qualified and one of them would actually be a very good supervisor. They were all passed over to hire the dingbat.

"Lying on one's resume is cause for dismissal, even after a probation period..."

She has committed a number of offenses that are grounds for immediate termination.
