With Diddy at the helm, it was no surprise the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards was hip-hop heavy, but rockers Green Day ruled the night taking home seven awards.
Green Day's album "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" earned the California punks seven out of eight awards during the ceremony broadcast live from Miami Sunday night, including Video of the Year, Best Rock Video, Best Direction, Best Editing, Best Cinematography and the coveted Viewer's Choice Award
In accepting for Best Rock Video, vocalist Billie Joe Armstrong said, "It's great to know rock music still has a place on MTV."
Former "American Idol" winner Kelly Clarkson continued to build her rock cred by winning Best Female Video and Best Pop Video for her single, "Since U Been Gone."
Missy Elliott and Gwen Stefani had six nominations each and both picked up a pair of the moonmen trophies while the Gorillaz took awards for Breakthrough Video and Best Special Effects for "Feel Good Inc."

That picture isn't very good, but the other 4 aren't bad.

Yep. The effects of Hollywood.
Pardon me for being raised with a sense of modesty, but the whole excessive skin deal does not fly well with me. Very distasteful.

She only looks like a slut.
Like I said, too bad. This new look for her cheapens her and puts her in the same class as Christina, Brittany, et al.

What's excessive? She's wearing a long skirt and a top that completely covers her chest--not even a hint of cleavage.

This is so catty, but she ALWAYS wears these halter midriff shirts that show off her boobless body! Saying that, I'm a big fan. I think she's got a great voice and even better style.

Cher used to wear less on her show in the 1970s. By today's standards, Kelly's outfit is very modest and apropos I may add to the rock and roll world. When did the Grammy's become a show where rock stars wear Haute Couture????

It's pretty pathetic how you judge people. Do you really judge people's morals by the clothes they wear in their profession? She's NOTHING like Brittany. For one thing, Kelly has talent.

Sorry... I go to high school and have to deal with skimpily clad girls selling their self-image to get the football playing guys that they all want to date. It gets old after a while.
I guarantee the standards at your place of work are far higher than the standards at my high school.

I haven't seen the movie yet but on the ads for 40 Year Old Virgin when Steve Carrell's character says "Oh Kelly Clarkson!" when he gets a real chest hair waxing makes me laugh every time I see it.
