I don't think people hate her that much just don't see anything that she should be especially lauded for. Her shows are generally insipid, touchy-feely stuff which is why most men can't stand it. I have no doubt she is a nice enough lady and certainly should be praised for making something of herself.
I haven't seen the show since I don't even know when. All I know is that the Oprah's Picks books to which I've been subjected (mostly by my mother, who really should know better) are all about whiny, victimized, oppressed women.

she's really good at digs, and pretending to care. It's really hard not to bring up race, because they are the ones always making it an issue and you are stuck defending your self, then considered racist. Their own "leaders" use the race, pity,entitlement cards in order control them. There are many conservative blacks that have broken away from the I was a decent of the slaves, people of color are discriminated again, on and on. I don't like her one sided views.
She's God to the blacks, and so one sided.
I am Black and she is not any type of god to me. And for you to say that shows what type of person you are. Do you even know any black people? If you did, you would know how outrageous that comment is.

Oprah is a size 10. That's pretty svetle when the average American woman is a size 14.
I disagree, she makes sure she gets credit for all the freebees (i.e. fleet of cars given out, it was the dealship that went in with her for promotional advertisement, and they did have to pay the taxes, licenses, etc)but she got all the credit. Yes she is a generous woman, but many give and don't advertise it "look at how much I gave" .
I used to live in New Orleans, am pretty used to corrupt cops and a corrupt system, but that "vacation" takes the cake. You couldn't have pried the NYPD or FDNY from Ground Zero with the threat of a gun to their heads while they were engaged in recovery after the WTC - and that took MONTHS. I try to think what their response would have been if Rudy had suggested they needed a break so go take 5 days in Atlantic City. They would have looked at him like he was a new species of cockroach.
But then again, Nagin is no Giuliani. However, he may be a new species of cockroach.

Geraldo was just on Hannity's show saying that the mayor couldn't get people out because surrounding towns wouldn't accept them.

Using God name is vain was wrong and I apologize, I meant to say that I believe many worship her and her word is the truth, I feel she likes to only present one sided views, looking at the struggles of blacks, which is fine, but as many like JJ and Al Sharpton many times use their struggles to enable them.
What I am trying to say is that politicans, and entertainers are quick to mouth off about the poor and how they are treated and make their digs at the system but never follow through after the story. They are there to stir up the pot but do not follow through with long term programs to elevate them.
I have black friends and have worked with many at all levels . I am just listening to Mayor Nagin on her show and playing the pity card, I really do not want you to go in. He could have prevented the tragedy at the superdome, now he playing for the cameras. SHE had done alot of good and praise her for that, I just feel that she too uses her soapbox to her advantage as Mayor Nagin is just now doing.
I am sorry if I offended you. I used poor choice of words. PS. I have a nice black family that lives across the street (and our children went to school with their kids and are in our home all the time) and they don't care for her .
Better question would be: "Anybody (with a brain) watching Oprah?"
Apology accepted. It bothers me went people try to lump all black people together. God Bless America, where we are free to have these discussions.
I agree that Oprah has always shared her wealth. She's a decent person at heart. It's just right now if I see another celebrity jump on this bandwagon, I'll puke.

I do NOT like Oprah. But, I have to say, In the middle of a crisis Nagin kicked some butt. He called out the government as he saw fit. He was wrong on many counts.But he still spoke.
I, Personally erspect that piece...Hope my Mayor would too.

When President Bush was on her show, and she kept referring to him as Mr. Bush, rather than by his correct title-Mr. President, or President Bush-that told me all I wanted or needed to know.
Plus, I'm in Texas, and witnessed her anti-beef screed from Amarillo. So, basically, I have no use for Ms. Oprah.
