Anybody watching Nagin on Oprah??

I don't mind Oprah, in fact I watched the show dealing with methamphetamine addiction. Except for the smarmy intervention, the medical part of the show was top notch. As a rule I don't bother watching talk shows, period. Sure wish I hadn't missed her show with Tom Cruiser, hahaha! Nope, just tired of celebrities taking advantage of tragedies to get their faces on tv.

We'll see about Nagin.

When you make $100 million a year (or whatever she makes) it's pretty easy to be philanthropic. And SOMEHOW, her philanthropy has not remained a secret.

Oprah's objective seemed very clear: to defend the black leadership of New Orleans, to present them in a sympathetic light, and to contrast their allegedly heroic efforts with the muddled incompetence of "the Feds," i.e., Bush.

I do NOT like Oprah. But, I have to say, In the middle of a crisis Nagin kicked some butt. He called out the government as he saw fit. He was wrong on many counts.But he still spoke.

No, he screwed the pooch on this, from the evacuation to the shelters, and he screamed loudly to point fingers elsewhere, and take the blame off him. Hardly a profile in courage.
