I need to know this.
I just found this site and I'm chomping at the bit. There are these folks, you might have heard of them, that are fiscally conservative, believe in "little government" and individual rights. Call 'em Libertarians, Jefferson Republicans, bleah bleah bleah. They also believe...oh, shudder!....that govt. should NOT be in the biz of regulating morality...Don't tread on me...Do what you want; just don't hurt anyone else's chance of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness...All that antiquated jazz...leave foreign folks be..etc. etc..
Are there ANY secular rights in this bunch, or are you all a throng of extremist fundy righties who believe gays are the spawn of satan and this world should be turned into the sanitized minivan driving equivalent of disney-land? Because, if you *ALL* are, I want nothing to do with you. Your "free republic" moniker is a fake and for whatever value your articles may contain it is rendered asunder by your bias and not-so-hidden religious ties. If this is a nation "uner God" than tell me now so I can say bye-bye and do what I can to promote "reason" and not faith as a policy maker.

(I don't believe in forcing democracy on a people not ready for it or willing to accept it, especially when we don't even have a real democracy to begin with). You can be as gay as you want on your own time. Just don't try to indoctronate my child into your lifestyle via public schools. And when you have your gay marches and protests we'll choose to ignore you.

So you don't want anyone telling you what you can and cannot do? Everything is subjective and there is no right or wrong? I guess that not allowing anyone to impose their morality on you means, you think it is fine to have sex with animals, family members and we should let fat, stinky old men impose themselves on children? Make it legal for young girls to get abortions without telling their parents .. now there is a real fine example of not forcing your wishes or ideas on others by force!
You supposedly believe in a military but only for purposes of self defense. Then you choose to view the war in Iraq as imposing Democracy on others? You do not see a War on Terrorism as self-defense in view of 9/11 ?? Libertarians are anti-reason.
Its so lame to listen to libertarians self-servingly take potshots at the left and right. This constant whining that the Dems and the GOP do not live up to the Libertarian *ideal* is just so much elitism. Your attitude that everyone else's point-of-view is worthless, is both self serving and arrogant. It seems you have to raise yourself up, by putting everyone else down.
Libertarianism is dying because it doesn't work .. there is no substance .. you believe in everything and nothing. Just look at the website .. they are all over the place. You philosophy doesn't work because it's an *ideal* just like Communism which fails everytime it is tried. Time to get down off your high horse.

Government can't regulate morality? So then go steal yourself a nice car and when you're brought before the judge you can use that argument as your defense.
Or, who knows, maybe it's too big a job.
Frankly, people who do not now have democratic governmental forms should have them imposed on them, whether by force, or through financial incentive!
That reminds me of a story the first President Bush tells.
