I have come across some video on a website of my son's platoon in action.
Does anyone know of a way to download a videoclip that is imbedded so to speak in a website?
Look in your "temporary internet files" Sometimes videos you have watched are in there.
Use Net Transport. For some reason, I can't get through to their site, but here is the google cache of the site:

Sometimes you can right-click on the video link, then choose "save target as" from the menu that appears.
Thanks. I checked the files as you suggested and so far I haven't been able to find it there. I'm going to try again later tonite tho' in case I missed something.
Thanks for the lead. I couldn't get the site to open but found this one on a google search which I will investigate after work tonight.

Nothing happens when I right click.

If you can post the http location of the site and which video it is, I'll see if firefox will allow you to save the media.
Firefox has a built in utility to save videos that are embedded within websites. Let me know, and I'll help you out.
Well, if you use firefox, go the the page where the video plays, right click on the page background, , then select "View Page Info"
Click on the "Media" tab on the top of the pop up window, the video file should be listed. it will be Type: "Video"
select the video, then click on the save button.
that should do it for you.
Thank you. Check your FReepmail for the link. I use Firefox, also, but was not aware of the utility.
I have to leave for work in a few minutes.
Looks like CNN has worked out a system to block anyone from saving the file, you will need to use one of the direct video capture utilities like the one mentioned above in this thread.
Yes - try this one:

Thank you so much for the help and suggestions.
TomGuy has posted a link that works beautifully (see post #12) - it even picked up the Paris Hilton reporterette with her Darth Vader helmet cockeyed.
This was a grueling mission for the 3/6th Marines. One of many I'm afraid. Thank you for giving me something to share with my grandchildren some day. I love you guys.
Check out the link in Post #12 to see #1 son's platoon in action. (I may be his momma but I can't pick him out...yet.)
If you can't pick him out, I guess I'll quit trying! LOL
With all that gear they wear the only clue is the way he walks and his weapon. Heck, he lost so much weight in boot camp a few years ago I couldn't pick him out on the parade deck either.
I thought Mom's had some kind of built-in child detector recognition software. Maybe I have a corrupt file or something.
God bless you and yours Flora. My two son's are back from Iraq, but I am grateful to all that continue the battle - you must be proud!
