Debbie Squires of the Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association speaks to the House Education Committee. "Educators go through education for a reason. They are the people who know best about how to serve children. That is not necessarily true about an individual resident. Not saying that they don't want the best for their children, but they may not know what actually is best from an education standpoint."

Via Mediaite, the key bit comes at 5:15 but don’t skip. Watch the whole thing, as this is easily the most entertaining speech you’ll see at CPAC. Naturally he’s coy about what he’s got, but it sounds like it has to do with O as a student radical. I wonder if big media, having heard this, will scramble to try to uncover the footage and put it out ASAP so that it’s old news by the time of the general election. Can’t wait to hear their explanations for why they couldn’t be bothered to do that last cycle. Note well...

Scepitical? Look at the clip and you tell me Red furry coat, giant tusks... elephants of any sort not native to the region, either! The Siberian Woolly Mammoth -which we are taught disappeared abruptly at the end of the last Ice Age (~8000 B.C.)- has long been a source of fascination, as on occasion examples are found in a highly-preserved, mummified state under the Arctic territory's thick layer of permafrost. Similar in appearance to a modern elephant, the Mammoth was actually only slightly larger (~3m at the shoulder) yet with a shorter trunk, longer tusks, ears only 10% the size of their contemporary brethren,...

Drowning an abstinence advocate in a garbage can full of water, blowing up zombie pro-life protesters with giant condoms shot from a gun, cooking a pro-life senator in a boiling cauldron – these are all things Planned Parenthood thought were so funny and so clever that they included them in a promotional video put out by its former Planned Parenthood Golden Gate affiliate in 2005. After pro-lifers raised an outcry that spilled over into the media, Planned Parenthood pulled the “Superhero for Choice” video from their website without comment or apology. At this point Planned Parenthood would simply love it...

A rock band made up of Russian former paratroopers has scored a surprise hit with a song that labels Vladimir Putin a "tyrant", registering half a million hits on YouTube. Beefy, tattooed, wearing berets and military decorations on their chests, two singers and three back-up musicians let rip at Putin, the prime minister who is seeking to return to the presidency in March 4 elections. "You've destroyed the military, the army is broken and you've spat on the soldiers and sent the officers packing," they sing. "We're asking you nicely: Go, tyrant!"

MSNBC's Chris Matthews insults those of faith and those who are skeptical of manmade global warming. Transcript below. Chris Matthews: In other words, there is no manmade influence on climate change? Is that your belief, Ron Christie? I didn't know that. Are you out there with the full-mooners on this one?

Yesterday I noted that another green energy investment by the Obama administration had gone bankrupt. I posted video of the Vice President visiting the company. Today I’ve got video of the President touting his green investment in Indiana, including the now bankrupt EnerDel. This is from August 2009:

Oakland Mayor Jean Quan can’t catch a break. Quan was visiting Washington, D.C., for the U.S. Conference of Mayors meeting when she was spotted riding in a cab by Occupy DC protesters and surrounded. Quan sat in the cab and shielded her face while roughly a dozen protesters surrounded the car and chanted, “Shame! Shame! Shame! Shame!” “We were busy talking away, and I looked up and there were all these protesters there,” Quan said in a interview with the Oakland Tribune. “I think they freaked out the taxi driver.” Police moved in and pushed the protesters out of the...

Crows are presumed to be reasonably intelligent, and they often exhibit playful behavior. But do they like to go sledding on the snow? The accompanying video shows a crow in Russia sliding down a snowy roof while standing atop a jar lid--not once but twice--in an episode that has stormed the web, garnering 2 million views during the past week.

MUST SEE: Ann Barnhardt’s Viral Video Exposing Mitt Romney and Proving How Unelectable He Is Against Barack Obama Posted on January 18, 2012 by Kevin DuJan // 2012 GOP Candidates, Mittens Romney This is almost an hour long…Ann Barnhardt and some of her colleagues put a lot of work into it. You need to send this to anyone you know who still parrots that “Mitt Romney’s the most electable!” lie that the Cocktail Party GOP establishment has been feeding you. Watch the video. If it’s too long for you now, watch a little, pause it, come back to it, but...

What was your reaction to the video that appeared to show Marines urinating on three Afghan corpses? It's an unacceptable desecration It's an embarrassment It's not surprising -- things like this happen in war
-
An official says the U.S. Marine Corps has identified at least two of the four marines in an internet video that purports to depict them urinating on Taliban corpses in Afghanistan. A marine official said Thursday that the four were members of the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marines, which returned to its home base in North Carolina last fall after a tour in Afghanistan. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because a criminal investigation is underway. The official said that at least some of the four marines are no longer in that battalion. He provided no other details. (Snip) Panetta

Syrian President Bashar Assad dug himself deeper in a hole Tuesday, stating in a “major” speech that the “people” are behind him and blaming a “foreign conspiracy” for the slaughter of protesters. He told his country that “nobody is deceived anymore” by the alleged conspiracy, which he vowed will fail. Echoing the cries of Hosni Mubarak before he was ousted and of Muammar Qaddafi before he was killed, Assad added, "When I leave this post, it will be also based upon the people's wishes.” Perhaps looking ahead at sharing the fate of Mubarak, who is being tried for murdering more...

Osama Bin Laden's Last Message to America: Beware Capitalism? By MEGAN CHUCHMACH and RYM MOMTAZ Sept. 13, 2011 A day after Americans observed the tenth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks by al Qaeda, a new video featuring the terror group's now-deceased leader surfaced in which Osama bin Laden warns the American people not of coming attacks, but of the dangers of capitalism and the military-industrial complex. Appearing thin and with a very black beard, bin Laden says major corporations -- the "undeclared kings" of America -- ignite wars on purpose for profit and wield the power over...

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KTLA) -- Police have released surveillance video of a person of interest believed to be connected to the recent rash of car fires in and around the Hollywood area. LAPD officials said Sunday that they would like to question a suspect described as an older white male with a receding hairline and shoulder-length ponytail. He was caught on tape, wearing a full black outfit, leaving the scene of a car fire Saturday night inside the parking structure at the Hollywood and Highland complex.

A blast from the past is blowing a big hole in Ron Paul's campaign. A recently surfaced video from 1995 shows the GOP presidential hopeful discussing controversial newsletters that he claimed this week he didn't even read until about 2001. The Texas congressman has come under fire in recent days for the newsletters, called Ron Paul's Political Report, Ron Paul's Freedom Report and the Ron Paul Survival Report, which went out under his name in the late 1980s and early 1990s during his time in and out of office.

I just wanted to share this link with everyone, someone gave it to me and I think it's the neatest thing! It's a site that generates a video for your child, can include their name, upload pictures, etc. and is COMPLETELY FREE! As far as I know, there's no spam either, as I did not check the box to have more information on other stuff sent to me but you can choose either "nice" or "naughty" where the child will still have time to work towards nice but receives a reminder from Santa. The only thing a bit odd is...

I am trying to take short videos with my Nikon Coolpix, to help my son improve his running form. Well, taking the video is no problem and neither it is downloading it into my PC. Now my problems begin! I've tried to watch the video with Windows Player and Real Player, but both say they cannot open a .mov video. It recommends to download Apple Application Support. I googled it, found it and tried to download it, to no avail! Here is my question, is there any other way to change the format of a .mov file into a format...

All too often people who are well-meaning and have good intentions end up creating results which are the opposite of the very thing they are trying to fix. Milton Friedman discusses the efficacy of "affecting to trade for the public good," as Adam Smith put it.

The Occupy Wall Street movement expresses valid frustrations, but do the protesters aim their accusations in the wrong direction? Economics Professor Chris Coyne draws the distinction between crony capitalism and legitimate capitalism. Crony capitalism is government favoritism fueled by handouts and is responsible for the plight of the 99%. Legitimate capitalism, on the other hand, uses competition to align consumer and producer interests and serves to improve everyone's standard of living.

So Elmer Fudd Barney Frank announced yesterday that he would not be running for re-election in 2012. His stated reason was that his district was gerrymandered, which is true. But Frank was no longer safe in a safe-district. Remember it took a last-minute infusion of DNCC money to save Barney Frank in 2010 and even then, his 54% of the vote was the lowest he had ever received since his first election in 1980. Frank is retiring because he is chicken, he almost lost last time, and doesn’t have the guts to try again. In his 31+ years in the...

This is a video of the world's tiniest V-12 engine being made by hand-built craftsmanship. Now the video does not say this, but I'm guessing the motor works off compression ignition like a diesel. Which would be similar to the way an R/C car that runs on gas. This would explain why their is no lubricant added to the engine. The lubricant is in the fuel. It has 12 cm^3 of displacement, the cylinder bore is 11.3 mm and stroke of the pistons is 10 mm. Works with just 0.1 Kg/cm^2. It is constructed of stainless steel, aluminum and...

OAKLAND (CBS SF) — The Occupy Oakland encampment recently broken up outside City Hall was the setting for a gay pornography video apparently shot on site. New York-based Dirty Boy Video set their latest flick, “Occupy My Throat,” at the encampment at Frank Ogawa Plaza, using footage of the protests in their B-roll before going X-rated.

I’ve been in conversation with a pro-lifer who shot much of the footage for this newly posted graphic abortion video. The person did not tell me how s/he got access, or where the abortions were filmed, because to do so would risk losing access. But s/he did believe that while the babies being filmed or photographed died, countless other babies were being saved by exposing the truth of abortion. This is true. It is also true that the stress is very great on this dear pro-lifer. “It kills me everytime I have to take photos,” the pro-lifer wrote. “When I...

Ari Abramowitz and Jeremy Gimpel are out with a new viral video, in wake of the recent events relating to the United Nations. "From Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, the UN always seems to bury any chances for significant global progress", explains Abramowitz, "and they do this behind mounds of useless resolutions and empty rhetoric." "On top of that", adds Gimpel. "they've made some of the most ironic appointments in the fields of Human Rights and World security, and so we prepared for the viewers a hard hitting, entertaining video that exposes who's behind the UN, and who's setting the international example...

A short silent film of London taken from the back of a vehicle showing some of the best recorded ordinary-street scenes ever. What are now termed Classic Cars abound in this as yet undated film. It has the early 1950's aura to it. It wouldn't have been during the 40's and it was definitely not the 1960's, safe to say approximately early 1950's. Great colour film for the period.

When I was a kid growing up in the late 70s, I used to comb through discount rack and often came-across various LPs by British boogie-rockers Status Quo in those bargain-bins and thinking 'Who the hell is this... and why are their records always being dumped by the dozens...?' None of my friends where into the band, they didn't get US airplay, and I never did buy them, perhaps spooked by the glut of unloved product out there. Most Americans would be likely know the band best for 1967's US/UK psychedelic-rock hit 'Pictures of Matchstick Men'- a song which in fact was their...

Thousands of UC Berkeley students and Occupy Oakland activists clashed with university police in historic Sproul Plaza, birthplace of the 1960s Free Speech Movement, which has witnessed protests against Vietnam War and many other causes.

A rediscovered video from Barack Obama’s 2004 Senate race shows him road-testing his current rhetorical techniques, pitching far-left policies, and depicting business and the marketplace as negative forces. “We all have a set of mutual obligations towards each other — we are our brother’s keeper, we are our sister’s keeper — and that those mutual obligations have to express themselves through government policies,” he said at the tail end of a soft-focus, five-minute autobiographical video entitled “Introducing Barack Obama” that he released during his 2004 campaign for U.S. Senate.

Daily Caller roving Colorado video correspondent Kelly Maher dove back into the Occupy Denver mire on Thursday to catch a glimpse of the voluminous Michael Moore and his equally voluminous voice — assisted, in any event, by an amplified bullhorn. Moore, ever the populist $50 million poseur, did not disappoint. “Everybody is a leader!” he insisted. “Wage slaves! That’s right. You know, historians — I believe that’s what they’re going to call us. They’re going to call us all wage slaves!” Us?

Texas Governor and GOP presidential contender Rick Perry is trying to turn his poor performances in recent debates into an asset with a new campaign ad in Iowa. The money line: "If you're looking for a slick politician or a guy with great teleprompter skills, we already have that and he's destroying our economy. I'm a doer not a talker." With that blistering yet incredibly accurate depiction of President Barack Obama, Mr. Perry may have found the perfect way to redeem himself with the party's first voters.
