WANTED Image hosted by Photobucket.comSAMUEL "MACHINE GUN SAMMY" ALITO

is WANTED for:

-Voting to strike down the 1986 federal machine gun ban. In the 1996 case U.S. v. Rybar, Judge Alito was the lone dissenter in the decision upholding the conviction of a gun dealer who sold illegal machine guns at a Pennsylvania gun show.

Possession of an unusual and extremely restrictive view of Congressional regulatory power. Alito (also called "Scalito" by his associates because of his similarity to conservative Judge Antonin Scalia) is known to possess views that could imperil virtually every federal law that regulates firearms, ammunitions, and explosives.

Known consortion with practically criminal organizations, including the NRA. The NRA's opinions almost completely mirror Alito's own, as they also worked to destroy the 1986 federal machine gun ban, and made plans to "actively work toward the repeal of the recent machine gun ban and will take all necessary steps to educate the public on the sporting uses and legal ownership of automatic firearms." Their efforts in that case failed.

Threatening the future of the country. If Samuel Alito's minority opinion were to become reflected in our nation's Supreme Court, all Americans would be at even greater risk from uncontrollable firearms proliferation. In a time of increased concern from terrorist threat, Alito's views aren't just radical, they're dangerous.

"MACHINE GUN SAMMY" IS TO BE CONSIDERED ARMED (with extreme political views) AND DANGEROUS (to the nation's future) AT ALL TIMES!

Approach with caution, and UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you approve this man's nomination to the Supreme Court.

(All statistics from Violence Policy Center's informative backgrounder on Judge Samuel Alito)

Boy, they sure are playing up his Italian heritage aren't they. Maybe I should be more outraged being of Italian heritage but for some reason I don't get too worked up about this (I really should). Maybe because I'm tired of being constantly outraged at the left.

So stupid. What people don't tell you when they compain about the machine gun ruling is that a lot of Alito's complaints were largely procedural. One article I read described his dissent as saying that machine guns could be banned, but the legislation wasn't properly written to do so...all that needed to happen was some language changes.

Attention lurker trolls: Automatic firearms have been highly regulated since the 1934 National Firearms Act.

I've read parts of his opinion and it seemed that the issue was not machine guns, but interstate commerce.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for machine guns. I am the product of a class III weapons home. Dad even owned a muzzle loading cannon.

My point is that the media seems to mischaracterize this opinion as being in favor of guns when it is really about a law that violated interstate commerce laws.

Yep. They have been highly regulated. Only a class 3 license in certain states will grant you the capability to purchase an automatic firearm, and on condition the weapon must have been made before 1986 AND does not contain a certain amount of extra parts (i forget how many... i think its 5). There are also huge fees, taxes, and extensive background checks/interviews/courses involved.

Due to these restrictions, the weapons cost a fortune. If you got a license and are an arizona resident... an M16 would cost you over $10k due to the rarity of legal to buy models.

Yeah. The gun laws in Kalifornia really suck. They have totally disregarded the constitution and have came up with their own illegal laws here, taking our rights away as fast as they can to suit their own purposes. They just recently passed a prop. in San Francisco banning ALL handguns. Its against the state constitution as well as our federal constitution but with the grand 9th circuit court.... we'll see what happens.I have a feeling they will legislate from the bench as they always do.

Possession of an unusual and extremely restrictive view of Congressional regulatory power.

Sounds like my kind of justice.

Alito is known to possess views that could imperil virtually every federal law that regulates firearms, ammunitions, and explosives.

Jeez, a guy who actually bealieves the Constitution when it says the feds can't regulate just any old thing merely because they feel like it! What an extremist. I'm shocked, shocked, I tell ya.
