It's a Great day for some college football!!!
In old Ohio (Columbus) there's a team that's known throughout the land Eleven warriors brave and bold who's fame will ever stand And when the ball goes over, our cheers will reach the sky Ohio Field will hear again the Buckeye Battle Cry! Drive, Drive on down the field Men of the scarlet and gray Don't let them through that line We've got to win this game today COME ON OHIO! Smash through to victory We cheer you as you go! Our honor defend we will fight to the end for OHIO!
The only team I am rooting for today is Fresno State. I hope they shock USC and shut up the trojans gay lovers through out college footballdem. Its a longshot but one can always hope. Of course if that were to happen the BCS would once again be in a mess.
Ah, you're just trying to suck up to the hometown of Free Republic. And what's with the trojan gay lovers comment?
GO PENN STATE!
GO FRESNO STATE!
YEEAARRGGHH! ...whoops... didn't mean to sound like Dr. Duh! :)
I figured it would be a nice epithet to throw in to get people riled up :)
You're not supposed to do that until everyone has pounded down a few beers!
Oh yeah I forgot, but I might not stay up late enough to watch the whole game tonight though.
GO BLUE!
"I hope they shock USC and shut up the trojan gay lovers through out college footballdem(?).."
Not sure where the 'gay lovers' concept comes from, as USC is probably the most conservative campus in the entire state. But regardless, it's funny how often that USC is playing someone that has a realistic chance to beat them, and people all over the country are anxiously tuning in to see if it happens, and then USC wins and the same people say they don't play anybody. At Oregon, at Arizona State, at Notre Dame, Washington State with the #5 offense in the country at the time, at Cal, now against Fresno State, UCLA coming up in a couple weeks. But if they thump Fresno State tonight, well, they weren't that good anyway.
The stupid game doesn't start until 9:15 this evening for me. It's going to be hard to stay up for the whole thing unless it's a close game.
The Bulldogs have some pretty good talent, but it's going to be hard for them to match up for the entire game.
Oregon and Notre Dame, Cal, Fresno Ste and UCLA will be the only anybodys. Not to knock them, I just dont want them to win.
I am sick of history ignoreres when they claim this is the greatest offense of all time in college football. There stats just dont match up against the likes o the Scoring Explosion of the 83 huskers or the 95 huskers.
Before their quarterback went down, Arizona State was a fine team. They are the toughest team LSU faced all year, they played USC close, they blew out the Big-10's Northwestern something like 52-20, and then their QB Keller went down and they have had to regroup. So, it's disingenous to say that Arizona State was not a dangerous team, because after reading your posts over the past couple weeks, I'm pretty certain you were glued to your TV screen when USC travelled down to ASU for that game, and that you were all giddy when ASU was up 21-3 at the half.
Also, when comparing the Nebraska offenses of 1983 and 1995 to the USC offenses of the past couple years, people recognize run/pass balance of USC, as opposed to the run/sort-of-pass balance of the Nebraska teams. We can never really know, but given the Big 12's performances in recent BCS games, I'm not real sold on statistics put up in that conference.
I was at work when ASU played USC.
Either way we arent talking about The big 12 when we talk about those Nebraskas teams, they were still big 8. And in 1995 the conference had 4 teams in the top 10. Nebraska beat 7 teams(maybe more I need to check) in the top 25. I remember the run up to the slaughter of the gators in 95, most experts were saying if nebraska was to win they had to keep it close because Spurriers offense that year was the best they ever saw. I think the announcers are still calling Fraziers run that left the entire defense of Florida on there back.
Sigh, I say TO should resign rom congress and take back coaching the Huskers.
SCREW BLUE!!
:-)
nothin personal of course :)
When does the game start, and will it be on broadcast tv?
Go Bucks
Your last statement also made me think of something else. The Big 12 will have 9 bowl qualifiers this year, one more than is needed. The Pac-10 will fall one short of what they need. Considering the conference USC plays in, I am not so sure of the numbers they have put up this year.
The game is about to start, turn on ABC.
found it, thanks
