Yahoo just takes a Pelosi Press Release (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and posts it as news. While clearly marked many people will assume that this is news.

It does not look like they are packaging it as news, if you look at the tab at the top of the screen you can clearly see that it is a press release. The US Newswires is the company that Pelosi uses to get out her garbage.

Yahoo & google are wordsmithing search engines with politics. Try getting a photo of the famous New Orleans Looter Guy. Funny, can't seen to find the pix with a search.

I did say that it is clearly marked but people will mistake this as news.

I post Press Releases (marked as such) here but we are a discussion forum.

Seriously, email them and complain. I did this with Google and some totally boguas propaganda resource and they pulled it from their 'news' search sources. We just have to hammer them to get them to do something. If it was issued from the "PR Newswire" then you will have harder time since thousands of items are posted each day. But there is no way in hell that a single congressional office is 'news' regardless of who the congressman is.

I'm tired of the leftists in the Education system. On one side I get lectured from the Left about how "the rich" are having everything handed to them and how awful it is and how money shouldn't matter and how they care so much about the poor and then I turn around and see stories about nude parties at Columbia, cheaters graduating with honors at USC, etc, etc, etc.

Columbia? USC? These are Ivory Towers where Lefties reign SUPREME. And look - the rich kids that go there are acting like animals and relying on their parents money to bail them out.

So now we have Nancy Pelosi: Good Liberal standing up and announcing how much she cares about "the little guy". In other words, she puts her token monkies in there so she can walk around make speeches about how much she cares (like she's got a monopoly on "care".)

So here I am filling out an application for USC/UCLA and I'm running into her wonderful paperwork. If I was black, I wouldn't have to submit form B7 and it's 80 dollar application fee. If I was disabled, I wouldn't have to submit section 22u of form M1 that is available on page 7.2 of packet A6 (and the accompanying fee that goes with that as well.)

What a joke! Thank you SO MUCH Mrs. Pelosi. I'm glad you have feel good issue for the 06 election. You wanna REALLY do something for education? How about giving me a shot? If I was one of your million dollar contributors, you'd go for it. If I was related to Michael Moore, you'd go for it.

Any press release given to US Newswire is published on Yahoo in the same format. For example, this Focus on the Family press release from this afternoon:

Focus on the Family Welcomes Ake Green Ruling; Swedish High Court Upholds True Human Rights

They've done this for a while, but it's apparently done indiscriminately.

Keep in mind Yahoo also posts "stories" from the Weekly World News under "Entertainment News and Gossip" or some such similar heading. Granted, I'd trust anything from WWN long before I'd trust Pelosi, but I guess the shocking lesson is that one can't trust every single thing posted on the internet as gospel truth. Maybe not even every single thing posted on FR :-p
