From one of you links:

Tom Petty, Aerosmith and the rapper 50 Cent for the evening...Members of the Eagles and Fleetwood Mac and the saxophonist Kenny G

I almost believed this until I saw they invited Kenny G. No one could have that bad of taste!

"What Brooks does with his money is his business."

I wholeheartedly agree, provided he earned it lawfully.

Just last week my beloved came home from work and was rather perturbed. Said a fellow employee expressed her belief that no American should bring home over $50,000.00, regardless of the amount of income they earned. She said that if you bring home anything over this amount, you are a greedy person. This employee driveled through the typical liberal rant, which included the evil SUV's, the unnecessary War in Iraq, all rich people are evil, and so on. Well, my beloved could not walk away from such an arrogant statement. The two of them engaged in a passionate discussion. During the conversation this woman stated that she doesn't see ANY good reason to die for another human being. My better half informed her that she is a cynical woman who has no hope. She said that there is no hope. My beloved disagreed, and so do I.

Ricky the Clown, eh. Well, we had Fundles the Clown. And that's no joke(pun intended). Next party we'll hire Ricky.

The other articles present the situation without accusations or smear. The www.gnn site is a left wing shotgun and I doubt the veracity and characterization of the accusations.

Why, how dare you question your "betters?" Don't you know he made his money honestly in the "free" market of government contracts?

You should be THANKFUL that men such as this exist..selflessly providing for our soldiers at a reasonable cost to taxpayers.

If you don't like it, you should save up your pittance (after taxes, of course) and start a competing company! I'm sure you have the appropriate "connections."

No?...well, it's too bad you weren't born into the "right" family; but happily you should still be able to bribe your way into the mix. Get on it!

We called Fundles, but he was on tour that week.

People who make a lot of money (lawfully) are often characterized as greedy by those who are envious. We live in a great country that allows the opportunity to do what you want to do and make whatever you can, and spend it how you want. No other place like the USA - land of opportunity.

Well I agree when it's HIS business, however when rich elite use their powerful influence to alter negative changes within society, then it affects me. I have a problem with that.

You read a left wing hit piece that makes a host of accusations, and you wet your pants believing it, while asserting that Brooks somehow had a business that existed only by connections or pedigree. Show me your proof.

Fundles was on tour alright.......making the rounds at your local funny farm, if you catch my drift.

I am second generation of immigrants. I found it interesting that my grandparents never expressed any desire to return, not even for a visit, to their homeland. As I once heard a woman, who had fled El Salvador with the clothes on her back only to become the CEO of her own company some time after arriving in this country, tell a fellow America who was complaining about this womans wealth,

"You are sitting on a gold mine in this country, you just don't realize it."

God bless America.

Why can't I picture huge lefty Henley playing a gig for a defense contractor?

LOL! How many liberals do you know who aren't pure hypocrites? Bet a buck right now that, despite all his crowing, Henley has no problem taking CASH from anywhere on the political spectrum.

I would have a problem with that as well, but that is not the issue regarding this article.

Before drawing any conclusions, I'd rather read more information. The articles do not provide any reliable sources.

Incidentally, what about all those rich people whom you've benefited from by way of services/products which their companies have provided? You obviously have a computer. Do you drive a car? Wear shoes? Drink coffee from a trendy cafe'?

You are absolutely in tune with reality. Without successful entreprenuers and successful businesses, we would be like El Salvador. America is a giant business that employs millions of people and provides the opportunity for anyone to elevate themselves according to their ability and desire. Be thankful their are those who make millions. Those millions create opportunities for others.

Try to get a poor man to hire you for a job.

Yes, it's well-known that our Federal Government STRIVES to provide the best value for the taxpayer. I've prepared bids to supply these "contractors." They waste more taxpayer money fulfilling one contract than most people will likely see in their lives.

As far as "connections?" Please.

The article you posted is a left wing hit piece. What Brooks does with his money is his business. If I had the dough, I would hire Aerosmith for my daughters birthday, too.. Unfortunately, I had to hire Ricky the Clown.

Oh puh-leeze. Hit piece, my butt. If some moron spending $10MM on a birthday party for a 13-year-old--money made by selling gear that put our troops in harm's way--isn't news IYO, what the heck is?

If we can't set aside our own rhetoric in the face of disgusting avarice like this, we have no more intellectual credibility than liberals. It's not an indictment of capitalism to point out sickening behavior when you see it.

BTW, I wouldn't spend $10MM or $1MM on a birthday party even if I was a billionaire. It's a ridiculous waste and as horrible an example as one could EVER hope to set for a child.
