Narnia is far better than LOTR.
Me

I just saw the Chronicles of Narnia. I have only one thing to say: don't listen to the media critics!!! It is easily one of the best fantasy/mythology movies that I've ever seen. I expected to have wasted good money on a ticket, but it actually turned out to be a clean and decent movie that still managed to be extremely entertaining. I would have to say that this movie is better than LOTR Fellowship and Two towers.

"I expected to have wasted good money on a ticket"

Oh, come on. Why would you spend the money if you expected it to be a waste?

Gotcha. But whenever I read "don't listen to the media critics!!" I usually think "Uh oh." I never read critics except by accident, so that's not why I'm not seeing this. Glad you liked it.

Look... I understand the Christian angle and all that, but let's not get ahead of ourselves, eh?

No way do talking beavers trump orcs and hobbits.

Taking my 3 kids next weekend. I would support it because it is a family movie. That means the critics will denigrate it and try to get the story of queer cowboys to be number 1.

Prior to watching the movie today, I saw an article on CNN saying that the movie wasn't good.

I saw it this afternoon. It was incredible. Excellent performances by all of the actors. CG effects were wonderful. Aslan's resurrection was very well done.

I saw all three LOTR movies. Narnia is better than the first 2, imho.

LOTR had fuller battles and better camera angles, but CON had a wonderful story, good action, brighter colors, a few laughs, thoughtful points, and Biblical allegories. I'll see it again next week.

No foul language, and no sex either. Between LOTR, the Passion, Spider Man 1 and 2, and this, my taste in movies has gone way beyond the usual fare.

Aw, but they were two of the best characters! My wife loved the way they held hands, like a married couple (which I guess, they were!).

Hopefully your three aren't too little, or they'll be frightened. Although edited to be less than gorey, the battle scenes are pretty realistic - IOW, you know that people are getting killed.

I think you've named the only new movies I've seen the last few years. LOL

TPOTC, Spiderman movies, LOTR. I haven't seen Narnia yet, but plan to early next week when I have a little time to make it to the theater.

I usually listen to the critics and do right the opposite of what they say.

As opposed to "bad money"?

Series, these fantasy movies leave me sleeping from boredom. I guess they're okay for young children, however, I'd rather watch a few hours of Discovery, Hallmark, and The Military Channel.

What if they had machine guns? My money's on the beavers, then.

I really enjoyed this movie. Ditto what COBOL said. And I like to add that it was one of the most clean and decent movies that I've yet seen. This is rather unlike most movies nowadays. The scene of the death and resurrection of the Lion was just so incredibly well done.

The suprising thing is that critics blasted the hell out of this movie, to the point where I was actually convincing my friend not to go see it.

Like I said in an earlier thread, LOTR does absolutely nothing for me, especially the movie. Makes my eyes bleed when those pigs start squealing and they sure do squeal a lot.
:(
The Chronicles of Narnia has GOT to be better.
