Sorry, that should be osso buco. Do it with veal shanks if you can get them.

Take one entire chicken. Remove giblets and whatnot from inside. Sprinkle inside with salt. Spray crockpot with cooking spray. Place chicken in crockpot. Sprinkle chicken seasoning salt over top.

Come home, take chicken out. Make gravy on stovetop from a package or jar, adding some chicken fat. Make some mashed potatoes, or nuke a couple baked potatoes.

There's Sunday dinner.

Get some Italian sausage links (hot or sweet). Spray crock pot with cooking spray. Chop up some onion and green pepper. Add in with a big can (19 oz) of tomato sauce. Season more to taste, if desired. (Garlic, Italian seasoning, etc.)

5 hours on low or so until sausage isn't pink.

You could brown the sausage first if you're in a hurry, but if you aren't, don't bother.

I, too, have a family of two adult and two teenagers--both girls but this recipe is a favorite of all their male friends as well and it is very, very simple:

Brown 2 lbs of high-quality beef tips in a smidgen of oil. Stir together the contents of one can of Campbell's Golden Mushroom Soup and two cans of Campbell's French Onion Soup in the crockpot. Stir in the browned beef with its drippings. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Serve over egg noodles.

I have a larger crockpot and so I frequently make a double batch and stir the leftover beef mix and noodles together for storage in the fridge. The leftovers never go to waste and they microwave easily.

Steak or pork... Generous dosings of onions... A good barbecue sauce, with a cupr or so of water and a couple of tablespoons vinegar.

Cook until meat mashes easily with a fork, then serve sloppy-joe style.

Great thread!! Pork chops are great in the crock pot, leaves em nice & tender. I have a Pork Chops w/Jalepeno dressing receipe at home that is delicious. I'll try to remember to bring it in tomorrow.

Maybe a little too much work, but:

Brown lamb shanks in olive oil. Remove and place in crock pot. Brown onions, garlic and green peppers in same pan. Dump into crock pot. Add dried basil, thyme, oregano, parsley, salt and pepper (all to taste). Add a can of whole tomatoes. Poke the tomatoes with a spoon so they'll break up. Add a cup of red wine (or more if you like). Cook until done. It's almost impossible to overcook this. Serve over rice.

We buy these cheap thin slices of steak. I put them in the crock pot with a couple of envelopes of brown gravy mix and some onion soup mixed with a cup or so of water. Sometimes I throw in some green pepper slices and onion slices. We put them on some good tasting hamburger buns or hoagie buns with mozzarella or provolone cheese. It's an awesome steak sandwich. My son loves them and he doesn't like much of anything!

Browned cubed venison and beef, with white wine, applejuice, and flour. Add an assortment of cubed root vegetables on top. It's South African and called Potjki (pronounced poiky)
