CBS) CHICAGO It was supposed to be a right turn, but something went wrong.

A semi carrying a load of chickens wound up smashing into the side of Aurelio’s Restaurant in the West Loop Thursday morning.

The driver apparently misjudged how much room he needed to make that right turn onto Harrison from Canal Street.

No people were injured. No chickens were injured.

Inspectors are checking out the building to see if it’s stable.

Crossing the road was supposed to be so much easier in this New Millenium.

Aurelio’s Restaurant

My mother-in-law went to school with Joe Aurelio. He opened his original pizza parlor in Homewood, IL back in the '60s before starting to franchise out new locations. Joe died 2 or 3 years back. My wife worked the original takeout counter when she was in hihgh school.

When we moved to Chicago Heights in the mid-60s, Aurelio's was just a little storefront pizza joint; now, it's quite the corporation.

You find chickens in a henhouse, not a stable...

You gotta love a story that ends with, "No chickens were injured."

Except you know it doesn't end there... "The chickens were all safely transported to their original planned destination where they were immediately killed."

I don't think there are a lot of happy endings for chickens.
